I think that the vast majority of modern women in general have mental health issues; at the very least anxiety. They've been thrown into the meat grinder and being told they need to be a successful career women, but also a successful mother (forget about being a good wife). Add in the millions of other pressures that women are not biologically wired to handle plus the general cattiness that occurs among women and you have generations of women who are losing it.

Believe me, as a woman I feel that.

My mom did some time working, and some time as a stay-at-home mom, but she always seemed to impress on me that I should not "depend" on my husband, whoever he might be, that I need to be ready to be independent. This from a woman who didn't have any major relationship troubles and only married once.

Also, I had to go to college, I had to get a 4 year degree. My dream job was behind a trade school...well, dreams don't always come true. I ended up being a lifer working tech support. And there's no real reason to leave that job as things stand. It makes good money. Dreams not coming true is one life lesson hard learned, but it has allowed me to be content with the way things turned out, at least in my personal life.

But I will admit, part of me yearns to be that housewife, not worrying about things other than cooking, chores, and the kid. Spending 8 hours a day 5 days a week getting yelled at by entitled snots is a very draining life. (Which is probably why it pays well, I admit.) But I've worked long enough to earn a very generous vacation allotment every year. Being able to take a day off every couple of weeks and still have enough left over to take some significant time off really, really helps.

But a slut first ... Always a craven and depraved slut ... Not even a slut who enjoys the art of depravity like a happy hooker of old Paris, but a nymphomaniac in the most insensible compulsive and joyless lars von trier sense. A monkey in an experiment pinching the lever for a ever less rewarding hit of degradation and stinkbself loathing and rootless anger.
