I also think state legislatures should make rules for federal candidates/reps/senators that they aren’t allowed to accept donations from anyone other than direct constituents.

South Carolina’s elections shouldn’t be influenced by companies headquartered in California

This is one of the keys. Stop politicians from pandering to corporations and big money donators from everywhere except where they represent. Big Tech money should not be influencing politicians/elections in Nebraska, Iowa and Arkansas.

You’ll never get the federal level to pass it for themselves. It’d only work if the state level passed it for federal level positions and local level passed it for state positions. Then you’d pass it at a local level through a citizen vote at a town meeting

On the other hand, these people are famous frauds. They'd probably funnel money to locals, and then have them donate.

I think Veritas showed that in Illhan Omar's district last summer, no?

What type of shill would downvote politicians NOT taking corporate donations? 🤔hmm...Very strange indeed.

The best way to do it is repeal the 17th Amendment. Don’t do what your state wants, they recall you and put someone in that will.

That would likely just increase the RINO problem. Politicians in the state legislatures would just appoint their crony RINO friends, just like Kemp appointed Loeffler instead of Doug Collins.

It’s the legislature and not the governor. I’m not saying it is perfect, but state legislatures are more conservative than any other branch of government from state or National branches.

I like direct elections however I agree on the recall and would reconsider direct elections if local administration wasn't such a shit show.
