"Twenty years in, we can't continue to do the same thing and expect that we're going to get different results. It can't be an endless war," Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (N.Y.), chairman of the House Democratic Caucus, told reporters Wednesday.

"I've been to Afghanistan; it's a rough part of the world. This comes from someone who comes from a rough part of Brooklyn," Jeffries added. "But, we can't be the policemen for the world either. It's not our job."

So Dems are back to being anti war-ish. I agree though, it is a propaganda victory for the Taliban. They get to notch another 'empire' onto the Graveyard of Empires.

But you know what? I don't really give a shit. We've been there for 20 years. The troops we're sending there now weren't even born when the war started. We've spent trillions of US dollars and thousands of US lives to accomplish a fat load of nothing. If Islamists want to destroy their own countries, thats on them. We shouldn't be sending soldiers there to teach them how to civilization.

We shouldn't invade a country unless it's for total victory. What would a US victory in Afghanistan even look like? We had no end goal. Had a side project of building a puppet government. Had 20 of practicing military tactics and testing new tech, and perfecting military supply chains.

It's one thing if we went in to nab someone connected to 9/11. Why did we just send a helicopter to take out Osama, but had to invade all of Afghanistan. Matter a fact, considering Osama died we could have just used a drone.
