Black Science Man is a joke. Perfect example of affirmative action.

I think Tyson is actually well educated in his field of science. I also think he's surrounded by so many yes men that he likes the smell of his own farts and actually thinks that everything he has to say on any topic is more valid then what anyone else has to say.

SPEZ: I changed my opinion on him being smart.

123
magastrophysicist 123 points ago +123 / -0

I would disagree with that he is very smart in his field. Only four of his first-author papers have more than four citations, and all were written before 1994.

I published a tiny paper two months ago that was cited seven times in the first two weeks...

Neil deDouchebag was a run of the mill astrophysicist and quickly gave up on the field when it became clear that he would never really publish anything of value.

Now he is a "science communicator" -- generally a "field" held by women and incompetent scientists.

A scientist is already a science communicator by nature, so to be only a "science communicator" means that you enjoy being the smartest person in the room and the smell of your own farts.

Sincerely,

Your local based astrophysicist

Tyson left hard science to take a job schmoozing with the elite to get donations for the Hayden - a good job, as the Hayden does a lot for science literacy and encouraging kids to get into science. But NDT has his head jammed so far up his ass these days he's beyond insufferable. He used to be entertaining when he'd go on Rogan and blow up Rogan's peanut brain with science trivia, but these days he's just an arrogant prick who slimed his way into the elite's dining room through the back door, and now thinks he can dictate to people how they should think. The comment the Steak-umms account responded to was ridiculous, coming from a self-proclaimed man of science. I personally think Steak-ums are disgusting, but I completely respect what they're doing on Twitter.

Brian May, the guitarist of Queen, is a Ph.D in Astrophysics and his thesis is more accomplished than anything NDT has published. I mean, come on. Go back to your wine and cheese parties for the elites in the Hamptons and kiss their asses to sign a check, Neil. It's what you're good at, not science.

15
magastrophysicist 15 points ago +15 / -0

Agreed.

Nothing wrong with communicating good ideas and science, but he is insufferable. I met him once in 2012 and he was nice enough for the minute or two I talked to him, but his rants on Twitter are mongoloid at best.

Brian May is awesome haha.

That's the point. Kamala is their creature. That was her first stop.

19
FireannDireach 19 points ago +19 / -0

Self proclaimed "science communicator". He's trying to copy the work of Carl Sagan, but his arrogance and narcissism make it impossible to reach the value Sagan had. Neil's version of Cosmos was embarrassing.

His job is kissing rich people's asses to sign checks for the Hayden.

Fauxi is only after a paycheck. He's also caught up in his own celebrity and has forgotten whatever he did know at one time about science.

11
DrBJTester 11 points ago +11 / -0

Getting a PhD even with an affirmative action assist is impressive. Doing unique work contributing something to the base of knowledge in physics; that's another step up the big brain ladder that a lot of really smart people don't make. They may spend their life chasing a flawed hypothesis. That is science we don't know, what we don't know.

Neil is a phartblossom surrounded by Yes Men and people trying to virtue signal. I believe he's smart enough to know he's full of shit and doesn't care as long as there's a paycheck. The worst part is he's much more interested in being famous than doing any science or even promoting science as a philosophy.

He's the worst kind of liar. A lot of people would call him a whore; but prostitutes actually provide value for money and a valuable community service. He's a turd circling the punchbowl of life.

9
FAhayek 9 points ago +9 / -0

He also commits the cardinal sin in metaphysics where he starts off a claim by saying “Since we can say,....” as his launchpad to espouse pseudo-science, when the basis isn’t proven. It’s like if I said “Since we can say that trans-women are women, we can infer that...” it’s like no, that’s not proven so anything you say going forward is bullshit. Unfortunately, brain dead NPC’s buy the pseudo-science without fact-checking the initial claim or basis of his hypothesis he conveniently glosses over

3
DrBJTester 3 points ago +3 / -0

Clown world means your "feelings" are important that any silly facts like there are only two genders and the rest are sexual aberrations. I don't have a problem with crossdressers, but if you used to be a linebacker for the Cleveland browns you're going to have a hard time passing for a ballerina.

9
Forgotmypass666 9 points ago +9 / -0

Oh okay. I didn't know that.

How about I ammend that to well educated in his field of science instead of smart?

14
magastrophysicist 14 points ago +14 / -0

I would agree with that I suppose. He earned a PhD and for whatever that's worth, it means he is as well-educated in astrophysics as he could be. But he kind of gave up on his career and education by just being a shill on Twitter for likes.

A PhD is also not exactly proof of intelligence in the field. I have one, and I have the dumb. My wife always reminds me of that. But I never refer to myself as "doctor" even though it would be okay to do so.

15
anon1011101 15 points ago +15 / -0

3
TownHallBall 3 points ago +3 / -0

If I had a phD in astrophysics i'd use that doc title. Fuck the haters. Now, a PhD in education like Dr. Biden can get fucked.

2
FireannDireach 2 points ago +2 / -0

He did the work for the degree, but that's where it seems his work stopped - since then he's been a marketing CEO for the Hayden and a book author. When he isn't too full of himself he does have an ability to break down complex ideas into simple ones, for a layman to understand, but there's a lot of scientists like that.

For astrophysics, I'd recommend Dr. Becky on YouTube over Neil, any day - she's far more charming, and isn't full of herself. Yet. And the channel for the Royal Institute, that has guest lectures by scientists doing actual science (you have to be careful, there's some wokeism there, but it's pretty easy to spot.)

18
GizzardPuke 18 points ago +18 / -0

He has clowned himself so many times, remember when he said the star wars bots had to be CGI because science..........WRONG. There is a fucking litany of foot in mouth with this "Climate Change" sellout science denier.

13
DylanPetrodollar 13 points ago +13 / -0

Remember when he explained to Joe Rogan that the bricks in his wall were not real? That was one of the cringiest things I've ever seen. He actuallly got up to feel them when Joe said he was wrong. It was like he couldn't believe he was wrong. Also, he went on and on about why he doesn't use a cell phone case and how it is like a gun and without the case, you are more careful with it as he proceeds to spin it around in his hand. The real reason he doesn't use a case is because he can afford to buy a new one every day. Also, he was accused of inappropriate touching by a girl whose arm he had grabbed without asking to look at a tatoo. That should qualify him for cancellation under the left's insane rules but he is exempt from the rules. I suppose 'some animals are more equal than others' after all.

3
GizzardPuke 3 points ago +3 / -0

I missed that one fortunately, I would like Joe to take his back, choke him out, slap his dick on Tysons forehead , snap a pic and upload it to social media as a ego check to this narcissistic shitheal.

See the Milgram Experiment.

Nothing is different between the people of the Wiemar Republic and the people of the USA. They make science their idol, and then are surprised that they end up goose-stepping to the popular ideas of the day.

4

So, he's not a fucking scientist.

That would be an engineer.

Fuck, you are terrible at this.

-2
ancroidubh -2 points ago +2 / -4

Unless you are an engineer, a mathematician, a physicist or a chemist, shut the fuck up, you have no idea what you are talking about. Cornell’s requirements for a BS in engineering are 14 - 20 credits of math, 8 - 12 credits of physics and 4 - 8 credits of chemistry. That sounds pretty “sciencey” to me and is pretty in line with my own 1974 chemistry degree. Nye knows more about science than you know about pulling your dick.

3

Bill Nye was born on November 27, 1955 in Washington, District of Columbia, USA as William Sanford Nye. He is an actor and writer, known for Bill Nye, the Science Guy (1993), Flubber (1997) and Stargate: Atlantis (2004). He was previously married to Blair Tindall.

3

He was in Stargate Atlantis? Man I never made it past first season in that, but it wasn't terrible.

1
Bluestorm83 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yeah, it was. I DID make it past the first season. Atlantis had a gift for squandering potential, fucking up promising plot points, and being the little brother yelling "Me too!" as it chased its cool, older brother down the block. There were some good points, like the Jenai, a human government on another planet that took a hardline "We do whatever the fuck we need to, to ensure we destroy the Wraith," and it was nice to see humanity kicking ass without crying about what was morally right... but they did stupid shit that made them lose, necessitated by them being the "bad guys." Aaaand then they trotted out the whole "Replicators" thing eventually, both the Lego Block Bugs from SG-1 which were cool, AND the "Human Form" ones made of nanomachines which always pissed me off because they were lazy writing as shit, except for that ONE who fell in love with Major Carter and then she betrayed him and broke his heart and he came back to destroy humanity.

But hey, at least Atlantis wasn't "Stargate: Universe." The one that shoehorned in unnecessary sex all over the place, tried to smell its own farts all the time, and got itself cancelled JUST AS THEY STARTED DEALING WITH ACTUAL SPACE SHIT AND BROUGHT BACK THE ASGARD. Robert Carlysle was the only reason I kept watching that debacle of a shitstain of a show.

People used to take arsenic, mercury, and all other types of poison like strychnine to treat certain ailments. Just because scientists thought something was "the best" at one time doesn't mean it will never be improved!!

Shit man, a marathon runner in the 1904 Olympics was given strychnine and brandy.

Hicks, one of the early American favorites, came under the care of a two-man support crew at the 10-mile mark. He begged them for a drink but they refused, instead sponging out his mouth with warm distilled water. Seven miles from the finish, his handlers fed him a concoction of strychnine and egg whites—the first recorded instance of drug use in the modern Olympics. Strychnine, in small doses, was commonly used a stimulant, and at the time there were no rules about performance-enhancing drugs. Hicks’ team also carried a flask of French brandy but decided to withhold it until they could gauge the runner’s condition.

There was also the whole 'Radithor' debacle . . . radium infused water as a health drink.

Within two years, Eben Byers was dead. His jaw had rotted off, and he had anemia and a brain abscess to boot. He was so radioactive, he was buried in a lead-lined coffin.

There's some pictures of Eben Byers floating around . . . they're more graphic than the Radium Girls.

it's more to do with definitions and semantics. a planet was redefined as (among other things) a body that clears a path around its star. pluto's in the middle of the kuiper belt which is chock full of bodies. therefore pluto was demoted to a 'planetoid'.

Tyson had to drop out of his first PHD program.

Columbia picked him up off the scrap heap and paired him with a few smart people to help him stagger through his thesis. He's attached his name to a handful of worthless papers since then. Literally any faculty member at any prominent institution has a better resume than him.

He gets tv gigs and press because he fits the narrative. He's the Obama of science.

61
MAGAsian 61 points ago +61 / -0

He also doesn't publish any science. He's probably the most famous scientist in America who does not publish a goddamn thing

29

Can confirm. Neil deDouchebag Tyson is insufferable, and a non-producing scientist.

Sincerely,

Your local based astrophysicist

Some say, the very best!

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Neil and Bill Nye are both insufferable globalist goons who have perverted science into a pornographic display of the curvy nuggets they deemed acceptable to discuss.

They also "believe" in the "climate" and are thus retarded.

8
MAGAsian 8 points ago +8 / -0

What's the thought among your colleagues about this guy?

11
magastrophysicist 11 points ago +11 / -0

He is not given much thought generally as far as I can tell, save the women astrophysicists who love to tweet out incessant bullshit like he does.

I suppose most think "yeah, that's cool he's talking about science to the kids again."

We only give thought to productive ideas and scientists. It's not a perfect field by any means, but generally it seems that respect is still given to great ideas and not "clout."

2
basedvirginian 2 points ago +2 / -0

Would you say your colleagues are based or do they tend to be lefties?

2

Considering that it requires actual work.

I did pretty much exactly that yesterday, except instead of mayo I used french onion dip. Put it on the bread on both sides, provolone on top on each side, pop them in the toaster oven and then put the meat/onions/peppers on it. Best food I've made in a while, I'm going to make more right now.

Notice how these people call it "Science" with a big S. It's a religion with a false god and you just need to treat them like you treat the savages in the jungle who still worship the Volcano god.

In fact, there's no difference between believers in Science (big S) and people who believe in the Volcano god.

6
VoidWanderer 6 points ago +6 / -0

The human mind will always make something the subject of worship because it needs something bigger than itself to latch onto. If it's not God then it'll be something else. Money, women, "science", whatever. Humans are going to find something to worship no matter what those that claim they are "atheists" tell themselves. If they were honest they'd look at their lives and pick out what it is.

2
Kweebecker 2 points ago +2 / -0

Most people need a reason for their actions outside of their own Self.

Be it pleasing God, serving Satan, furthering The Agenda (Science, Feminist, Stormfront, Government, doesn't matter), they need to be acting in service to something, because most humans are submissive by nature. Intelligent atheists know this, because it is a well-established "thing", sociology-wise, and it explains the prevalence of various religions throughout history.

Someone seeking to further their own Self... They're rare. Most people who look like they're doing so... Aren't. That person jogging and weightlifting is seeking to further society using their aesthetics. The merciless businessman believes he can support the government with his power.

There is nothing inherently wrong with serving a higher power, regardless of if the power is higher in the metaphorical sense, or a very literal and immediate presence. And I think more people know that than you may think. A bit of a blackpill, but I think most NPCs know, on some level, they're NPCs.

I would not consider NdGT an elite physicist by any means. He advocates antropogenic CO2 as a critical element of climate change. Yet the RFek forcing valuations for key greehouse gases (ghg's) under the well established and stipulated laws of thermodynamics easily proves the CO2 fears are a hoax.

Yes I would challange NdGT in court with the following baseline calculations:

Climte is 288.8°K > |0|°K Climate attributed to ALL GHG's is only 16.3°K Therefore GHG's account for only 5.644% of climate.

Among GHG's..

H2O/water accounts for 25,000 ppm w/an RFek value of 1.00 unit per molecule, and therefore 25,000 RFek units/mp

CO2 equals 410 ppm x 1.94 RFek value per molecule for 795 RFek units/mp. And only 29% is anthropogenic.

CH4/methane or cow farts (actually all rotting organics worldwide) add <2 ppm at 1.52 RFek units/mp.

All other GHGs add about 3 more RFek units/mp.

So of all GHG's perhaps 238 RFek units out of about 25,800 total GHG RFek units are anthropogenic change over 125 years.

238/25,800 x 16.3°K/288.8°K = human C🦶

= .00052°K.

Of a 1°K change in climate > p-125 yrs, 99.948% of the change has nothing to do with anthropogenic CO2. The math is irrefutable since those constants are stipulated factors approved by NASA, NOAA and the IPCC.

That is just one way we know the CO2 alarm is a hoax. There are several ways to arrive at the same results including the use of atomic weight equivalents incorporated into a ratio algorithm. That method produces the same limited AGW result within +/- 2% of the above.

NdGT is towing a political line, but physicists and astronomers, geologists, botanists and paleo climate scientists simply do not agree with what is easily disputed as a farce. We don't even know if the CO2 count was 285 back in 1895 because modern climate model writers decided to cull that number from the bottom third of over one hundred experiments run at the end of the 19th century.

One reason we know that is an error is the botanical extinction paradox. Botanists have discovered that over 1/3rd of plant species simply cannot survive below 200 ppm. Yet climate scientists keep insisting that ice age CO2 levels were in the 160-180 ppm range based on ice core studies.

If so, why did the earth not suffer a 1/3 loss of all botanical species enduring ice ages? The logical answer is CO2 sublimation loss. In other words, ice cores while consistent in storing data, do not store 100% of A-CO2 during the long event trapping processes that eventually become the source of the ice cores. Ignoring CO2 sublimation during the long course of each trapping event causes an estimate understatement of 33-50% of actual CO2 in the ice core. Adjusting the ice cores as physicists suggest, means actual CO2 levels in the last 3 million years was likely 50-80 ppm higher than previously thought. Such an understatement coupled with revisiting the real CO2 in A back in 1895 means the human impact on CO2 is likely no more than half of what could be calculated above.

NdGT...how did you get a doctorate?

3
MasklessMarvel [S] 3 points ago +3 / -0

in 2019 the level of CO2 was 409.8 parts per million

500 million years ago the concentration was 9000 ppm

volcanoes worldwide emit, on average, about 1.5 million metric tons of CO2 per day (only about 2% of the amount that human activity causes).

why is there even a question?

1
unashamed 1 point ago +1 / -0

Man, I just read that whole explanation. I feel like I understood most of it, despite not being a biologist/chemist. Sounds like you’re essentially saying that the amount of CO2 contributed by humans, based upon the rate of change since 1895, and other thermodynamic factors, isn’t enough to actually cause the change is average global temperature?

I’m trying to find more info on this. What does RFek mean? I cannot find a definition.

In my graduate Anthropology class way back just after the Civil War, I walked into finals having spent the previous 48 hours in a binge cramming session. So as the professor was handing out the test he asked everyone for their attention. "If any of you read the newspaper this morning, there's a front page article about archeologists discovering irrefutable proof that such & such precursor to humans was in fact a hoax. So when you get to the question on the final about this precursor, frame your answer according to what I taught you as if this new discovery hadn't happened."

While many self-proclaimed science elites talk as if science is always right, the fact is, science conversely is a moving target. Anyone in the scientific fields knows this. And the crazy thing that happens so often is that what was presented a year ago as undisputed fact, is now after further research found to be completely wrong. So Tyson saying Science is always right is an absolute lie. With science, the goal posts are constantly on the move. Science AIMS for the truth, but it misses the target frequently. Science is also a self-rectifying process when done correctly. But as soon as buffoons get ahold of it it becomes a deadly weapon to promote blind obedience by tyrants. That's how the Democrats & Progressives use science, & evidently that idiot Tyson.

Science is not true. That’s capital S Science not lowercase science. I say this as a scientist. Steakums is right. The field is ever changing and evolving as we learn new things and question old things. To say “trust the Science” is basically throwing blind faith at an authority figure. Science is not an authority figure. Science is an academic field. It has undoubtedly advanced society by leaps and bounds, and it has also undoubtedly been exploited by those with nefarious intentions.

I saw Neil deGrasse Tyson at an event in Washington DC. I mistakenly thought he was going to talk about space, but all he talked about was his latest book. Anyhow, he tried to explain to the audience that WTC Building 7 fell to the ground at free fall speed because the jet fuel from Towers 1 & 2 splashed all over Building 7 when the planes hit. At that moment I wanted to scream BULLSHIT but managed to reign in my anger.

When i glanced at the tittle I thought Steak-Umm was having it out with Tyson Foods. I thought "Cool, kinda like General Tso Vs. Colonel Sanders in a chicken battle."

"Science is true" HA! apparently Mr.Tyson has never heard of Karl Popper or the philosophy of science. " Popper argued that a scientific idea can never be proved true, because no matter how many observations seem to agree with it, it may still be wrong. On the other hand, a single contrary experiment can prove a theory false forever. Science advances only through demonstrating that theories are false, so that they may be replaced by better ones." To prove something true would require an infinite number of proofs. This is why science will always be a game of successive approximation....unless your head locks up like Mr. Tyson's.

Besides science doesn't deal in truth, it deals with evidence, hence the scientific acceptance ot competing and conflicting theories that are viewed as "true" (read, both useful at describing and predicting behavior, depending on certain circumstances, especially in the quantum realm.)

Popper also held that for a scientific theory to be valid (notice the lack of the word "true") it had to have the ability to be proven false (called Falsifiability)......and yet Mr. Tyson seems pretty damned sure of himself........for a scientist.

Mr. Tyson needs a few lessons in epistemology of science

I knew Black Science Man was a fake from something really simple. He pronounced Wolfgang Pauli's name wrong. Its spelled like you would say Paul-ey but it's pronounced Pow-ley. Simple thing but anyone in physics should know this -- Einstein himself said he was one of the few people who understood him -- and in fact, he was teaching Einstein's work when he was in his 20s, then later disagreed with Einstein -- and was RIGHT! So a physicist would know this person and his name.

O -- he was the first to recognize the existence of the neutrino

There's some little dig at religion (Christianity of course, specifically 'white Christians' him and his friends despise. They can't properly discern what 'belief' or 'faith' means and they get stupid and #JDS (Jesus Derangement Syndrome) and say insane nonsense like that.

You can find a million of these fvcktards on Reddit and any online teen atheist forums too. They think there is an 'Entity' named 'Science' and that the very word science is a synonym for 'truth' and all kinds of retarded ideas.

Steakums is certainly correct about this. 'Science' is describing a 'method' not a 'thing' nor an entity but a process. It could be true or false too, that isn't even the point, its a method that may or may not produce truths but its not a 'Thing'.

Well then.. we have to understand they do think it's a thing and fly around saying 'Thank Science!' and 'Science protect us' and it's good someone called out that charity case Woke faggot for his snotty little attacks.
