I don't get the idea that China successfully invading Taiwan is a guarantee. Even without our help.
China would need to successfully move probably more than a million pla across the straight. Taiwan has more than enough anti shipping missiles to turn the chicom navy into reefs many times over. Taiwan also has enough trained men to fight what could be landed in the first wave.
