One big issue with term limits is that the staffers, who wield a ton of power in DC, aren't termed out. You have to include them and then we can talk.

On that note, a lobbying ban after leaving office is necessary as well.

Nobody thinks it's a panacea. It's more like a first step.

I've got to head out to a grass roots meeting right now, but there's been a lot of work done on this topic. I'll follow up with some of that information when I get home.

"Term Limits" has been used a bit of a red herring for awhile. It's gotta be done right and for the right reasons.

Don't worry, I keep up on this stuff myself. I get that the 17th is the holy grail, it's just going to be the harder one to pull off.

Good answer, in a few ways.

I'm actually working on the Convention of States issue with one of the national groups. There's a possibility that the State Nullification challenges to the attacks on 1A and 2A can provide the momentum we need for a COS.

And the 17th is my personal holy grail. They took California with a similar scheme, but we don't have a solution like a COS.

Fixed that for you. Lobbying is just a polite word for bribery.

A point I made earlier today: they don't have to pass a new law against lobbying because bribing a public official has long been illegal.
