So Joe has to pay more per mile in tax to drive than super liberal hippy and her Prius. Complete removal of a gas tax and have it be a mileage tax places the burden of road repair on whoever uses it the most. So rich liberals who live out in the burbs who commute 1 hour to work will have to actually pay their fair share and joe six pack working in the local mill will pay less.
