Here's the problem, those are leftist tactics. Yes, they probably would have worked, but for all of their characterizing him as a Tyrant, Trump just wasn't. If anyone is militarizing his rule, its Biden with the Legion Across the Rubicon and the fence surrounding the Capital.
I'm torn over whether I'm glad that Trump didn't spit in the face of Liberty and do these things, or wish he would have to have maintained power.
The real question is would that have preserved power?
I think the answer is no. Either he has something still in mind to do ("the best is yet to come") or he's simply internally admitted defeat in some capacity to an enemy he knows he cannot beat.
A lot of people were wanting him to "cross the Rubicon", myself included. Realistically, they would have taken that chance to exterminate us all right then and there. At least as it stands, we still have some (peaceful, even!) ways of correcting the ship en masse as a group. Similarly, we don't know the full extent of what he knows.
I doubt he's naive enough to think he can just win re-election in 24. I also doubt he just gave up; does that sound like Trump at all to you?
There seem to be a lot of people in his "circle" that are still working very hard out of the spotlight. Many of them still sound pretty optimistic. I don't know what's going to happen, and I think we should operate as though Trump isn't coming back either way, but maybe we'll get some answers to some of these more puzzling questions!
