I love animals and consider myself an activist of sorts (volunteer at a pet rescue). Animals are much, much more deserving of "social justice" than humans. Livestock conditions and even many domestic situations are unacceptable. They can't make self-betterment decisions like humans can and need someone to speak up for them.
Animals are dumb soulless creatures. Fuck anyone who is needlessly cruel to any living creature, or neglectful to animals under their care, but when you have rhetoric about them needing advocates, you start to sound silly. I think we probably agree a lot on these issues, I guess I am just irked by the diction you chose, and I'm not sure why.
You ever have a dog? Not a family dog when you're young, but YOUR dog? They have personalities like any human does, which i would call "soul- adjacent" if not a soul itself.
