Credit my parents... but I grew up knowing that doing something that is permanent, whether taking vows, or having a child or even getting a tattoo - if it's permanent you better be damn certain you're not just being obedient to social pressure. If you're considering the Vax, please give my parent's wisdom (which they got from the Bible) some serious consideration.
No judgements though, we all damage our flesh one way or another.
We should all give the bible and God's Word serious consideration. You should thank Him for the parents you have!!!!!!!!!!!
Trust me, God gets the glory.
How do I raise my (future) children to think this way? I never got tattoos either and I never read the Bible (not a Christian). I was too scared of upsetting my parents and now I am so happy I didn't get that crap
My parents didn't say shit about tattoos. I didn't get them because they are stupid and pointless.
I don’t have them cuz not having them now is the new having them.
Also true
"My body is my temple!"
Well, don't stress... at least the tattoo is only skin deep. It has no true power over them. My daughter has a few (against my teaching). She's still every bit as beautiful as she's always been.
... still. I'm just guessing now... but Jesus might leave those out in the future, if ya know what I mean. We all damage our flesh one way or another.
My reason has always been it’s easier Fir the government to track you if you have visible tattoos. Better to have none.
That's true.
I have a tone of tattoos. I still get them. I love them. Done a few of mine myself. Mostly they commemorate things I've accomplished military stuff, marriage, children, memories of loved ones lost. things like that, But they're quite personal. My next ones will most likely be my children writing their names on some left over space. I will definitely tell my children to think seriously about anything permanent. Tattoos, marriage, children. I don't really see the similarities to a vax, but I can definitely see advantages to not getting any. I'm viewed differently sometimes, but it doesn't bother me. Once people get to know me they know I'm a good person. If they choose never to interact with me because of the way they outwardly perceive me hey I never know or I probably wouldn't find them very interesting anyhow. Its interesting to see how others think of them though.
I get it. But it occurred to me at some point that I was the weird one having none. So I have thought about lot about why people do or don't ... do anything that the group is doing.
This vax does have a permanent effect. So the social pressure should alarm you.
Definitely. Me nore any of mine will be getting a Vax. That's for damn sure the social pressure doesn't surprise me at all. These people are evil.
it has perm effects? how so?
Shouldn't it?
But yeah, I'm referring the new kind of "vaccine" that isn't a vaccine. It is permanently prompting your immune system to respond to certain coded drug.
Plus they're finally saying out loud that getting vaccinated should become a regular biannual ritual.
That's a lot of body autonomy being surrendered.
I might get it. I might not.
But I am in the target demo that has a 0.00001% chance of COVID complications so leaning towards the “not”.
Will let the Liberals field test it first and then evaluate.
Very reasonable! I say at best, the vax is effective, which means that the risk of exposure is dropping.
If you avoided it this long, Maybe just wait and see if the vaccine is legit.
What's the rush!
If we never got tested how would we know if we already had it.? It’s a cold. Most sane people don’t get tested for a cold...
I know. I felt like absolute shit for two days after my boss tested positive for it, and we had a close, maskless conversation the previous week. But everyone I work with says I didn't have it, because I wasn't out long enough. But I don't know and I honestly don't care. My 70 year old boss is fine and so is everyone else who tested positive at my office. Yet they are all running out to get the vaccine, even the ones who had it!
Sounds like my coworkers.
Now my elderly parents did get it with out issue and they got “peace of mind” out of it. But they are in the at risk demo so.....🤷🏼♂️
I'm not trying to worry anyone. I'm just asking people to be sure they aren't just following the crowd.
... I'm kind of shocked so many of my coworkers have already had one shot. Even some who had covid. People in my age group. I'm noticing they don't even know why they think they have to get it.
Tattoos will calcify your Lymphatic system, destroying your immune system. So you may not realize it, but tattoos have more in common with vaccines than you know.
Don't get tattoos kids. Especially ones that you need to make up excuses for their existence. The diagram on this page, will show that there are very few safe places to place a tattoo.
Also I'm a very healthy man. I imagine if tattoos calcified your lymphatic system to the point of "invasive surgery" we would have boat loads more lawsuits and probably at least a semblance of something akin to a public outcry. Then again my screen name probably can tell you that I'm not a doctor. I would imagine that a reaction like that would probably occur in about the same number of actual deaths from the rona. So my tattoos are oh 99 percent or above safe. I'm good.
I'm not sure what you mean "make up excuses for their existence? ". Are you insinuating my family and accomplishments don't exist?
Well, I was not addressing you. But you chose to address me. And you seem to be demanding an answer of me. So I shall comply with your request.
If you have a tattoo of your babies foot prints on your arm, instead of using that money to pay off the roof over that child's head, then yes. You have created an excuse to get a tattoo. You are virtue signaling through images instead of actions. Such tattoos mean nothing to me.
There are very few tattoos that I respect. Most tattoos are no better than an RIP decal applied to someone's hooptie. A highly disrespectful action.
Tribal. Military. Prison yard. Religion, spiritual. Single color, black ink, zero cost, applied by someone that respects you. Someone with personal knowledge of the significance of said tattoo, and not by a salesman or tattoo artist.
Anything else is just a tee shirt design bought out of a strip mall to me. It tells me that you had money, and that you spent said money. Nothing more, nothing less.
I hope that answered your Questions. In addition, I do not need to see your tattoos. I would prefer you remained anonymous to me. As you also do not need my validation to live your own life as you see fit. As we do not know each ot̲͔͍her, and this conversation was purely academic in nature.

I vowed never to get a tattoo after seeing them on the elderly. They look good when you're young but when the skin starts sagging they're pretty gross. And those awful giant ear holes...
Im with OP on this one. Anything permanent is an automatic no. Especially when it comes to health.
Great post OP! Never got a tattoo because I knew that 20 year old me and 40 year old me wouldn't be on the same page, and I cared about the 40 year old me enough to not do it.. I also opted not to get one those dumb belly button piercings in the early 90s, because I knew I wanted a baby and it would get stretched out and look crazy. My sister has done both and now we are both well into our 40s and she looks bonkers, God love her
