What about the thousands of free blacks that owned slaves. (the excuse that they bought their wives, and kids doesn't get it). The three biggest slave owners in the south were in fact blacks. Most that did buy their wives didn't free them, but held it over their heads "for good behavior". There are numerous cases of even a wife that sold her husband "down river" to a cotton plantation because he got "uppitty", and even fathers that sold their children. Even many freed blacks unable to fend for themselves that sold themselves back into slavery. That "hero" of the slave ship Armistade named Cinque that was freed by the courts went on to own 30-40 black slaves himself. So do the hundreds of thousands of descendants of these black slave owners also get "restitution" ???

Contrary to what public school teaches, the Civil War was not about slavery. It was about reuniting seceeding states. It wasn't until over halfway through the war that Fredrick Douglas made it about slave as well. Most of the Union couldn't have giving less of a shit about slavery. Abraham Lincoln litterally campaigned about not wanting to touch the souths slaves, as he new it was crucial at that time to their economy.
