They're not pro-America, they're pro-Russia, which is good for them. Why is it that countries that are for their own people are seen as "bad guys", while countries that sell their people out to foreign interests are "good"?

Russia invading Ukraine is not exactly good for their own people. Unless you mean "their own people" are the same goon oligarchs like Hunter Biden and other prominent Americans grafting money from the Ukraine government. Of course the Russians want the graft money from Kiev, and maybe have a compromise with Biden/Hunter to share the steal.

I think they want to put a pipeline through it as well. Not to mention a warm-water port.

They have several pipelines through Ukraine already, which they can, and have, shutdown at will. The Nordstream 2 is the new big gas pipeline, but through northern europe, which US policy makers keep trying to sanction. The question is whether America should fight Russia, or ally with them. They are competing for the same re$ource$, but they are also a likely ally against Chinese imperialism. Also, when is it America's responsibility to save Ukraine?
