Yeah because Russia invaded Crimea. Putin is an actual Russian supremacist, since he seems to believe that all post soviet countries as well as Ukraine still belong to him and Russia.
Doesn’t matter if Obama caused it, Putin’s just as bad for installing or trying to install his own puppets. Is that the only way to do geopolitics nowadays? No diplomacy like Trump did, just forcing your way into other countries because of resources?
"We then installed a Ukrainian regime that started killing ethnic Russians." this is bullshit. The rest I half-heatedly agree with. You forgot to mention the coup was actually started with the corrupt Russian owned president Yanukovych selling his country out to Russia for a few billion dollars.
yeah, bottom line. stop invading other countries if you don't want trouble.. Unless you are America, or our ally. Or Russia lol
Yes, but who is invading who?
The US trying to get Ukraine into NATO was a direct threat to Russia. Same with some of the military bases encroaching closer to Russia's borders.
I'm not a fan of US foreign policy going back quite some time, but don't look at the world in a binary manner.

Should Russia have ceded their warm water port and just watched the US install a puppet putting NATO on their doorstep?
Obama caused this. Obama's foreign policy is dominated by the CFR, which is heavily influenced by the Ukrainian connections on the Atlantic Council.
There is a pattern to see here.....

Who invaded who? Russia invaded Ukraine. That is as simple as it gets.
But it's not that simple.
The US orchestrated a coup in Ukraine. This also included Crimea and a very important strategic port for Russia.
Don't forget the years of talks of Ukraine joining NATO. That's a direct threat to Russia.
We then installed a Ukrainian regime that started killing ethnic Russians.
Damn straight the Russians protected their people and their base. Crimea is mostly ethnic Russian.
There are no good guys in this story.
