2- They encounter many viruses and already have some form of immunity already. SARS-Cov-1 (2003 SARS) already hit them and studies in Singapore published in Nature magazine already showed that those people have T cells that make antibodies already in their system.
3- They are right next to China and have no way of not getting those viruses. With 1.4B people, and China with 1.1B people 2.5B people in Asia is where the CDC goes to find what the next virus will hit the US and build the FLU vaccines based on that information.
