yeah man, it sucks. i moved to gtfo of there as well. i actually grew up not too far from venice. it was always a shit hole, but its gotten worse, especially off of the strand. tents everywhere. and city councils are expanding it in other cities constantly. skid row is just getting worse. i dont know if ill ever go back. i hate that they did this. i miss going to the beach and looking out at the water enjoying Gods creation. fuck man.
Yeah, I never went north of Long Beach if I could avoid it, but I miss going to my favorite deli on 17th Street in HB early in the morning, getting a sub sandwich, double bagging it, then burying it a couple feet under the sand (to keep it cool), and going bodyboarding until lunch.
Just make sure the sand you reach is moist and cool and it'll keep it semi-refrigerated for a few hours. If you pour some water on it as well after burying it, that'll help it keep cool a bit longer.
