I grew up in Southern California -- fortunately spending my teen years in Huntington Beach, one of the few areas in the state that's not absolutely insane.

Back when I lived there, it wasn't cheap, but a lower middle class family could still afford to live there. Now if you're not pulling in 100k/year you're living in a tiny apartment. If you're pulling in less than 50k/year you're probably living in a tent or RV.

Whenever leftists make their dystopian sci-fi movies like Elysium or Hunger Games, it's with their own cities in mind, not realizing it's the result of their own bullshit policies.

I still miss CA sometimes...at least the nice parts I remember but I'll never live there again unless they get wiped out by a tsunami first.

yeah man, it sucks. i moved to gtfo of there as well. i actually grew up not too far from venice. it was always a shit hole, but its gotten worse, especially off of the strand. tents everywhere. and city councils are expanding it in other cities constantly. skid row is just getting worse. i dont know if ill ever go back. i hate that they did this. i miss going to the beach and looking out at the water enjoying Gods creation. fuck man.

Yeah, I never went north of Long Beach if I could avoid it, but I miss going to my favorite deli on 17th Street in HB early in the morning, getting a sub sandwich, double bagging it, then burying it a couple feet under the sand (to keep it cool), and going bodyboarding until lunch.
