Making it possible to use a DNA clamp to slow down or promote the replication process (imagine weaponizing a replication promoting agent to cause unregulated cell replication leading to cancers, or even triggering apoptosis).
Giving everyone a know marker in there genome is just begging for someone with bad intentions to fuck around.
