So I was circumcised as a baby and I personally don't mind that my parents did that. BUT isn't it similar to giving children hormone blockers (obviously not as extreme, but the principle). To my understanding the surgery is purely cosmetic and causes the nerve endings to be destroyed making sex less pleasurable. Do you guys support parents circumcising their children? Is it ethically wrong to make that decision for a child?

Here is how I see it: the kid can always get a circumcision later, just because it is a common newborn tradition does not mean anything. However, he can never become un-circumcised. So the only way he'll ever have any choice in the matter is if you do not circumcise as a newborn.
Also if you've ever read any of the horror stories of kids with botched circumcisions...
It is not like hormone blockers at all, it does not affect growth or sexual development like hormone blockers. It does cause damage to nerve endings, but no one really knows if there is a difference in sensation, the only people who would be able to answer that are people who had one as an adult rather than as a baby.
its still a form of genital mutilation imo. thats why i compare they two. irreversible medical procedures forced onto minors. obviously the hormone blockers have a more extreme impact. just a little philosophical question.
