They, just like the other mainstream media outlets, are controlled by people who want to see America destroyed. One could fairly describe them as "enemies of the people".
It's probably both. CNN needs ratings otherwise people don't ingest their propaganda. Also, a guy who's let's say middle management isn't going to know the real dealings of upper management.

He's the Sr Technical Director- the top technical guy- so he prolly rubs elbows with the big guys
Doesn't mean he's their peer. Probably mid level exec.
