“Big 8” accounting firm (the largest and best known firms at the time) Arthur Andersen was put out of business due to their complicity in the Enron fraud. There were plenty of good accountants at Anderson, plus secretaries and other support staff that had nothing to do with Enron or the decision making. Why did they have to lose their jobs; same reasons as above, the company they worked for helped perpetuate a massive fraud and it was corrupt.
