Police must be assumed to function as a simple outgrowth of the local government that commands them. The police are tools and weapons. Don't waste time or energy wishing they were anything else. Get into local government, and bring friends.

Assumed to function unthinkingly, right? Tools and weapons and no minds of their own. Step and fetch at the behest of a criminal authority to keep their fucking jobs and paychecks, right?

Obviously that's an overstatement, but it's the best assumption for any predictive model. They're enforcing laws and orders that are ostensibly legitimate. If all three branches of government are supporting something, it would be foolish to hope that the police will spontaneously form a revolution.

People have to stop hoping that the system will magically right itself. The people in control are smart, and they don't want to give back any power. Either we go take it back, or we learn to live as they say.
