Back when the beltway snipers were active my coworkers always listened to a hiphop radio station syndicated out of DC. Before the suspects were identified the hosts would go on and on, day after day, about the crazy white man Republcan gun nut who was murdering all these people and who deserves immediate death penalty and racism and reparations and on and on. Several black coworkers would"mmmm hmmmm" and "das rite" about it all. Once the non-imaginary perps were caught, holy shit those hosts did the fastest 180 I had ever witnessed. "I can't believe this. Oh, we can't pass judgement before trial. They're innocent until proven guilty. They're probably being framed. We have to understand their reasoning and mind-set. Something horrible must have happened to them to cause this. Who was really behind the attacks? Was the younger suspect a hostage? These were white guy lone wolf acts, no way it was two black men. Unbelievable turn of events. Surreal." Then after a few days had passed and more evidence came out and everyone with a brain knew they had the right guys, the hosts never mentioned the story again.
Pretty sad that trash like that or worse is 95% of mass media now.
Years before they started shooting people, these two were hanging together at a homeless shelter in NW Washington State. The staff at the shelter thought the relationship between the teen and grown man was inappropriate and called authorities. In the absence of anything else to hold them on, Border Patrol picked up the kid for illegal presence. A judge cut the kid loose and he immediately took up with Muhammed again.
Had the law been enforced I think Muhammed would have still started killing people, but maybe the kid wouldn’t have.
Hell we just had a black high schooler mass shooting at his high school last week! He was taken into custody peacefully because he surrendered peacefully.
Almost every weekend my local newspaper is filled with articles describing the arrests of violent criminals, some of them mass shooters by definition, and they are almost universally taken alive, they are never white. Our jails are full of black mass shooters that weren't murdered but instead arrested. I suppose because it was 4 people at the local hip hop convention it doesn't count as a mass shooting in the media's eyes.
