I have a large extended family and have had a Facebook account since 2007. I would lose contact with a lot people in my life without it. It isn't easy to keep up with a large amount of people without some kind of platform that centralizes it.
It is really easy to judge and say, tell your family to get off Facebook, but those family members also have their own extended family members that won't and so they stay on it and if I want to effiecentaly keep up with a large group of people, I need them to be on the same platform.
It is not my place to tell them to get off Facebook. I tell my closer family that I'm not using it much anymore. Normies don't care, they use whatever is easiest, especially the older members of the family. They have a hard enough time keeping up.
