Some of us have someone like an immunocompromised relative and are trying to do everything possible to shield them as much as possible from everything. If it weren’t for that I wouldn’t take it since I myself am not vulnerable to covid. Also going to get a flu vaccine that I normally wouldn’t bother with.
If it were just me I wouldn’t do it but I’m trying to shield someone else who’s vulnerable to all kinds of crap which is actually a pain in the ass even without covid.
What I’ve read is that they don’t actually know if it would measurably retard the spread on a large scale because apparently they can’t even figure that out for the flu vaccine.
On a small scale like me possibly spreading it to one other specific immunocompromised person, it should definitely reduce the chances of me spreading it to them, but it’s certainly not 100%. Even after the second shot it’s like 94% effective at preventing “severe” cases (supposedly) and they don’t know exactly what that means for chance of spreading. So I still have to take precautions for covid and flu and other to avoid spreading stuff to them, but I’m just trying to do what I can to reduce risk.
It’s a difficult judgement call because we don’t really have solid info. I’m just trying to do what I can because I know for sure my brothers immune system is fucked right now and stuff that doesn’t usually kill you can kill him.
I’m not the one who’s immunocompromised, it’s my brother and he isn’t getting the vaccine. The doctors can’t decide if it’s even safe for him to get it and they know it may not do any good at all anyway. After all, vaccines of any sort rely on your immune system and if your immune system is fucked then it isn’t working so it’s like trying to program a broken machine.
I’m just getting it on the off chance that it reduces the chance of me spreading the virus to him if I were to get infected, which we also have no data on. Theoretically there ought to be some reduced risk to him but it can’t be quantified, and neither can the long term risk to me taking it due to no long term studies of this.
It’s a judgement call and I wouldn’t force anyone else to make the same call.
I am still sick from 1st shot. I told my doctor I won’t take 2nd one as it will finish me off.
Why even take the first one? WTF
THIS
Better to learn than to never learn at all, but best to know from the beginning

I get what you're saying but they've been saying from the get go the vaccine won't help with the spread so why fucking bother if that is true?

Sorry for your sick relative.
I still wouldn't get it.
It’ll suck when the protein growths on your brain turn you to a vegetable and you immune compromised relative has to care for you
Both vaccine makers says they have NO DATA on how the vaccine effectiveness in immunocompromised population.
Read it for yourself.

NPC alert
Why take the shot then.
How long has it been since you got it?
Fuck you. Why do you take that at first hand?!?! If you browse here, we tell everyone NOT to fucking take it.
