It is true. Obesity is the biggest health epidemic we have in the country right now. Eat right and start exercising people.

We need to be better than that mentality. Obese people have nothing but themselves to blaim. Self responsibility plesse.

1
NotALoser 1 point ago +1 / -0

Can confirm. Obese because I ate a lot of shitty food. Started a diet months ago and am down 25 pounds. Granted, I started off bad by eating sub 900 cals a day by accident, but I'm now eating at 1500. Lots of veggies and lean meat and good carbs and moderate protein.

7
BingBongChina 7 points ago +7 / -0

You only get one body and your health is your responsibility and yours alone. Even fucking lefttards can’t vote themselves skinny. I had heard this virus was created by China to cull their elderly. What a treat if it takes care of our morbidly obese. I’ll actually be thanking China.

2

He's got some extra lbs but if youre 75 and president than meh... from old photos he kept in good shape most if his life.

And yeah hes not obese.

1
FormerGraveheart 1 point ago +1 / -0

That's how I'd describe it. Some extra pounds. It's key that his doctors always said he was very healthy. That's never the case for people who are actually obese.

1
NotALoser 1 point ago +1 / -0

He's overweight. Not by much. The thing is, our perception of being overweight has shifted over the years due to all the obese and morbidly obese people out there. What was once considered overweight is now considered a little above normal, and you're not fat unless you are morbidly obese.

The sugar industry paid scientists to publish white papers shifting blame on fats and oil instead of sugar

8
aKekabove 8 points ago +8 / -0

Wait your saying scientists can be bought off to push an agenda.... That would surely never happen #eyeroll

7
FireannDireach 7 points ago +7 / -0

True, but they don't even need to do that anymore. The food industry has studied food and how to drive cravings in customers, and they discovered if you made something sweet, customers would buy a LOT of it. That's why everything is cloyingly sweet now, they add sugar/sweeteners to *everything".

I wanted to drop some cubicle chub years ago, so I looked into nutrition, and chose low carb to do it with (because who doesn't love MEAT?). One of the first steps recommended is to get rid of sugar, and to read labels for it. It's beyond eye opening when you see how much food has sweeteners in it.

It was even more eye opening because I was doing this during the "low fat" craze, which was nutritionally a fraud, as dietary fat and oils are good for you - if you don't eat an all grains and dairy diet (so-called "carbs".) I looked at the ingredients for those awful "snacwells" low fat cookies, and it was ALL sugar. So here I am being lectured how low carb will kill me (while my doctor is saying 'Whatever you're doing, keep doing it, your numbers are excellent!"), while they're chowing down on sugar, all day.

Yeah, sure.

I lost the weight pretty efficiently, but that period I learned a lot about the lies the media spreads about nutrition and health. Remember when eggs were gonna kill us? I do. Literally overnight it went from "Eggs are cholesterol hand grenades!" to "Eggs are the perfect food, here's why...".

Anyway, yeah, if you weight twice of what you're supposed to, like the person in the OP's post, sugary soft drinks aren't for you anymore. But they won't stop eating. They never do.

7
coolhandcuke 7 points ago +7 / -0

When I was younger, I was so proud of myself for buying bottled fruit drinks that weren't sugary soda. Then I realized that there was only 10 percent fruit juice in them and the rest was sugar, water and corn syrup. No thanks.

3
remember1776 3 points ago +3 / -0

fucking SunnyD

1
Meme_Too 1 point ago +1 / -0

Even pure fruit is full of sugar (fructose.) If you're watching carbs, you have to limit fructose intake.

2
NeverTwitterer 2 points ago +2 / -0

Fact. Orange Juice is terrible for you. Try water and a vitamin C pill.

Pro tip: low sugar fruits are raseberries, blackberries, melon, kiwi, and grapefruit.

High sugar are tropical fruits... mango, bananna, papaya...

Literally the Elephant in the room... The subject that all politicians are afraid to touch on because the herd is basically fat obese and they don't want to be told that they themselves and their lifestyles are the root of the problem..

So what do they do instead? They run to Big Pharma for the miracle cure and if you don't want to become part of that VAXXER scientific cult crowd then you're the problem...

That's where we're at right now... America is sick in more ways than one. I call it the "revolving door system" ..

Feed them poison, then offer the bandaid and get people on a life long journey to being slaves to big pharma medications, diabetes, cancers, etc ...

It's a Big pharma, Big agriculture, big sugar revolving door system where they profit off everyone's lack of self control ..

A price you pay for freedom I suppose. But that doesn't mean we shouldn't be offering citizens who look after themselves some incentives to stay that way. Australia does it and I think we should too. Something

I was in the Atlanta airport recently. The vast majority of women were black and 80%+ of those black women were obese or morbidly obese and that's not an exaggeration. Even a black couple where the man was in great shape had a black woman that was obese. What the heck has happened to the black culture with such rampant obesity with the women??? It was really shocking.

2
ihatespeech 2 points ago +2 / -0

From the US Department of Health and Human Services Office of Minority Health:

"African American women have the highest rates of obesity or being overweight compared to other groups in the United States. About 4 out of 5 African American women are overweight or obese. "

"In 2018, African Americans were 20 percent less likely to engage in active physical activity as compared to non-Hispanic whites"

with all the anti-corporate wokeness going around, you'd think the left would get onboard with a boycott of coke.

but of course, this is just more proof that the left has never been about doing the right thing, or fighting for the little guy.

most people on the right and left can probably agree that electric and water bills are too high, that cable companies gouge customers, that banks charge exorbitant fees, but you never hear the left raising those issues!

A guy I know lost a lot of weight by going to a place called "30/10 Weight Loss Center". Their deal is that they can put you on a program where you will lose 30 lbs in 10 weeks. It doesn't come cheap though.. They charge $3K for that program.

THAT'S FUCKING $100 PER POUND!!!

This got me to thinking that if we paid obese people $100 for every pound they lost we'd probably come out ahead in health related costs as a country. As it stands today, the current incentives for the morbidly obese in this country to lose weight apparently aren't enough for them to stay motivated.

I don't know about you, but I'd lose 10 lbs if someone would hand me $1000.

4
DiamondInTheWeeds 4 points ago +4 / -0

Age is the main factor with obesity being a major factor

2
ModelMinority 2 points ago +2 / -0

We need to stop thinking that obesity is ok. Yes, for some, it's an unavoidable condition due to medical issues but for the rest it's very doable to not be so fat. We need to stop glorifying obesity on things like Swimsuit issues, ads, etc.

2
NeverTwitterer 2 points ago +2 / -0

Its unavoidable by some is bullshit.

That violates the laws of therodynamics. Energy cannot be created or destroyed. Fat cannot just materialize on your body.

2
Arwyn3x 2 points ago +2 / -0

Do yourself a favor and listen to this Mayo Clinic trained physician, and then share it with everyone you know. Then go out and buy some Vitamin D and Magnesium supplements, Fauci takes 8000 to 9000 iu per day, but he keeps that information to himself.

If you are fat get the free app the Doc mentions: dminder. It takes your location and tells you when you can collect Vitamin D from the sun which, I read somewhere, it is able to bypass your fat and get to where it is needed - it was a long time ago so I don't have a link.

Seeing as how many different kinds of death have been getting misdiagnosed as china virus (the most ridiculous I've seen yet was when someone got shot, and the cause of death was listed as, I am NOT making this up, "china virus with attendant gunshot wounds") I consider it highly likely that obesity is the leading cause of OBESITY deaths--but that a bunch of deaths caused by obesity are getting misdiagnosed as china virus.
