Good fucking catch. I watched that video and it happened so fast that I thought the cop shot him for no reason. I guess he deserved his "sucking chest wound".
Yep, gun goes behind the back and a half a second later an empty hand comes out the other side. If he still had the gun and the cop hadn't shot when he did, the cop would have been the one bleeding out in that alley. It's a perfectly reasonable defensive shooting, misrepresented with a single frame taken out of context in order to provoke a race war. Fake news is the true enemy of the people.
That's not an argument at all. Being out late is not a crime. Back when I was 14 I was at a friend's house and we got hunvry at like 1 am and walked like 5 miles to a whataburger. We got stopped by a Constable who asked us what we were doing and told us to turn around even though we were literally next door to our destination when he stopped us. We said "yes officer, sure thing," then as soon as he drove off we turned around and got our hungry asses some fast food. I remember that it took them over an hour to get only my order out, all my friends were done eating long before my order came out so I had to eat my food on the 5 mile walk back, and they didn't even refund me, just gave me a coupon for a free burger. Good times. And no, none of us drank, did drugs, or committed any crimes.
I grew up in an adjacent neighborhood where he was shot. He was gang banging and up to no good at 2am with a burner. 13 years old is prime age for gang bangers to start doing dirty work.
I lost many friends and family in their teens to "kids" his age in that neighborhood minding their business and not gang banging. You'll never here about them on the media though like this "kid".
I'm sure your parents knew where you were at 2-3am in the morning. 'We didn't do nutten officer". And of course the house you were in didn't have any food. I hope you've gotten a little smarter since then, but then you sound like you're bragging about how "slick" you were !
How is walking to buy fast food slick in any way? And no, there wasn't food at my friend's house, since his mom had a brain tumor and his little brother was severely disabled, both physically and mentally, so sometimes she had a hard time getting to the store.
But doesn’t it look a little.. idk suspicious for a kid to be roaming the streets in the middle of the night on a school night? Maybe I’m too much of a prude but nothing good happens after midnight.
You're absolutely right. As much as I hate saying it, these boomers reminiscing about the good ol' days don't get how much different it is nowadays, or how not-so-innocent urban neighborhoods are.
I'd never allow my child to roam the streets late at night.
Did you not just read my story? Now, granted, there weren't reports of gunshots where we were, so that is a huge and important difference, but your argument didn't include that detail. You just said he was asking for it by existing outside at a time you designate inappropriate, which I disagree with. But again, we weren't criminals and definitely weren't shooting at cars.
Yep. I was a person with issues, these issues I tried to resolve by biking at night. If a cop stopped me, I let him do whatever was needed. It is easier to just comply and you both move forward in your life, then resist and now something can happen. I do understand the why that is wrong approach, but the way I look at it is simple. They want to know who you are and what you are doing. A lot of nefarious people out there and I used to be one.
They say, which I believe, he had the gun, but was cornered he attempted to toss the gun behind the fence then raise his hands all in one motion. That’s why 13 yrear old can’t have guns. My 13 year “sounds legit” me now understanding you can’t throw a gun and turn around in a fast motion towards a cop

Not only reasonable, fucking impressive. Amazing police work.
One shot. That cop knows how expensive ammo is.
They don't pay for their ammo, we do.
All of these cases have proven that we really do have exceptional police. I can’t imagine doing that job at all and being that proficient at it!
That said, still not a fan of police not protecting the constitution. Just wanted to give credit where credit is due, though.
He was in the military and it shows. We need more cops like him.
Fuck yeah it was
Slide locked back like that, I suspect our dindu was out of ammo. If he wasn't, I don't think this little escapade would have ended like it did.
And too few will see this. They'll show clips of his family saying what a good innocent boy he was and how did this happen.
That’s almost a free “top surgery”
He’s running around in the middle of the night.
You really think he wouldn’t be up to no good?

Fine fine.

Deserved it for what?
Was he ever a threat to the cop?
