She said she was going to go work at a desk; I'm thinking this video was done a bit tongue-in-cheek.
*a lot of the jobs in the military do indeed call for sitting at a desk, and paperwork, lots and lots of paperwork; most of the military are support staff, not legs
Most of the military is make-work to justify budgets and get even more funding from congress et al. so that it can be embezzled or contracts awarded to friends. Everything is corrupt.
Most of the military is, heh, yeah, to some extent make-work. However, many people do not realize just how much background support fielding a fighting force is -- most of histories greatest military failures have been from leaders, generals, not taking into consideration support/supply for their militaries. It's incredibly monotonous (barracks/base life tends to be so) and not at all glamorous, definitely not what the civilian thinks about when they envision "our boys in uniform, bravely marching off!" -- but it is important -- every thing from intel/ops coord. and forensics, to making sure the transportation can at least somewhat run to making sure Pvt. Johnny and Tommy have enough bullets, MREs, and shitrags along with his timely payment for his service. The most important things really.
People who know like to joke about it.
And, America has always done a fair job at this (I hope it stays that way).
Oh, I get it. But I'm thinking of a modern transgender-accommodating military that just wants to suck as much money as possible down the drain. E.g. fighting useless wars in which had no benefit to anyone except certain industries.

The "virtual defense", those who track down anyone who dare to criticize the government.
???
Maybe that's not a thing in the US yet? Just give it a few months or years and you'll have that crap too.
Oh, I'm sure we do -- just not quite understanding the context here??
