White guy here who owns a restaurant. I have and always will hire or fire people based on their performance. As of right now my Head chef is white, and my Sous chef is black, and honestly my Sous chef has been coming up with a LOT better ideas than my Head chef. And you know what...I told my Head chef flat out, this guy is doing a better job than you are, so if you can't step your game up, you're fired and the Sous chef is taking over.
If you have the skills and drive to succeed, you can do it, no matter what color your skin is.
