That's also what I want. Distributism is basically about maximizing the number of small businesses and very limited federal government. Where it differs from what most people here want is that that government would be a constitutional monarchy. The state legislatures would still be elected, and they would hold most of the power, but the powers of the federal government would not be determined with elections.
The preservation of freedoms depends on the structure of the government, not on elections. When half the country wants government expansion and the other half doesn't have the gumption to fight it, we end up having our rights infringed upon.
