Yep, I casually heard that in a documentary concerning preludes to the world wars. So communism may have never even existed if not for some Kaiser using it to disrupt an enemy, and boy did it.

It did come back to bite them in the ass after WW2 though.

Germany tried to destabilize Italy with a communist revolution as well, as Italy had defected to the Entente, but the Austro-Hungarian emperor nixed the idea.
