Sadly the tech hasn't evolved much. There's portable Brother label printers and shit, but when it comes to quick easy labeling on foot these things are still the quick and cheap goto... as long as you can get the new roll loaded right and popping off without taking 3 tags with it.
I recall being a teenager, working in a supermarket during the 1980s and stamping an open box of 500 boxes of jelly powder before realizing the price was incorrect... and then having to pick off every price and start again... hoping that the boss didn't notice what I was doing.
Working in a supermarket was an education: I learned that most old people seem delighted after their life partner's die and old people steal, just for the trill of it. Also, if you slide the refrigerators forward a few feet each night, when the criminals smash a window and try to jump down onto the refrigerators... they will fall far enough to break bones and leave a lot of blood.
Yup. The main / largest windows in supermarkets are extremely difficult to break because they had strengthened glass and security film, but the smaller ones that are higher up, are just normal glass. Or at least that's how things were when I was young.
Criminals would smash the window and expect to jump down onto the refrigerator without expecting the fridges had all been moved forwards. They'd fall down on the broken glass and often break bones and lose a lot of blood. Probably not the smartest trick to pull on the criminals because if one died, it would be difficult to explain... but back then, we thought it was hilarious.
I'm shocked those price guns still exist.
I've haven't seen one in 30 years.

Smash a window and jump down?

I want to see the follow up video where the ER Doctors are staring at the price tags and listening to this person's story.
I wonder how many people he fooled with that before his manager told him to stop so he can try too.
