Can anyone provide a real argument against nuclear, other than "I'm scared because human error has caused disasters at a small number of nuclear plants in the past"? Serious question, I'd like to know if there's a non cynical reason that nuclear power is off the table in every "green energy" discussion.
Not if they use thorium instead of uranium. Thorium solves every complaint against nuclear.
It's abundant. It can't be used to make nuclear bombs. It can make as much energy as uranium. The waste is no where near as problematic as spent uranium.
Wait until it cost $300 dollars to charge your electric car, then see how smug they are. Make no mistake, there is some bean counter somewhere adjusting cost of electricity to make it equivalent to $3.00-$4.00 “a gallon” to charge your car once the market share is substantial enough.
They already do it at the charging stations you find out and about. If you calculate per mile the electric cars are equivalent to a gas saver 4cyl doing about 35 mpg. It's not saving you money. Especially considering you pay about $20k more for the electric vehicle. Any 1.8ltr 4 banger engine is going to be equivalent to an electric on cents per mile. Your gas car has the benefits of a 300-400 miles range and refueling in less than 10 mins. I guess you save on not having oil changes in the electric, but you'll spend twice as much on the low rolling resistance tires needed to optimize the mileage. So even that doesn't even out.
And it's not saving the environment due to electricity being produced by coal. Plus lithium mining and battery waste is an environmental nightmare.
I walk my dog past the things a few times a day. I'm thinking about printing local stats about what generates the electricity they are using to be saviors of the planet and dropping them under wiper blades.
That's wrong. Might have been true 30 or 40 years ago. But not now. Nat gas has had a price advantage since fracking really ramped up around i think 2003 or so. Plus obama's regulations forced coal powered plants to close. Surprisingly coal blipped below nuclear last year, due to low energy use for to shutdowns.

But you’re missing the part about wanting to also shutdown the coal plants and figure out the electric situation afterwards.
Nuclear is the only way to go. It's the cheapest, cleanest, safest energy source on the planet.

Shitholes could use it to develop nuclear weapons.

My town just installed charging stations.
At least now I know which out of state tourists are hypocritical cunts.
I need to start taking pictures when I walk the dog of $40,000 cars plugged into coal with Bernie or Biden bumper stickers
You should put up signs of what kind of energy source was used to create the electricity.
I think my town now has more charging locations than gas pumps.... for the two Teslas I've seen in town.
Sounds like a pretty lucrative gimmick though to whatever cuck decides to pay it. They're the next evolution of the vending machine now.

Might be fun.
Print pics of the kids hand mining cobalt in Africa.
I've got a great picture of strip mining in Africa below a picture of a green nature trail over a pipeline.
Great call. Double sided it is.
or you could stick em to the charging stations....

CLEAN COAL!
Coal has never been cleaner, emissions are practically nothing.
Facts. Carbon dioxide is not a pollutant to begin with.
You just need to tell the lefties that coal burner means having interracial sex and they will instantly advocate for coal burning
Been telling ppl just that and they put me on ignore.
Eh, still better than what it would have been since it's easier to filter emissions when you don't need to worry about weight.
I didn't buy a tesla for clean energy. I bought an it because it was fun as hell.
Batteries are magic
Electricity comes out of the wall...
The only advantage is cleaner air in the cities...but not by much.
It is clean coal.
you're not thinking like a liberal. the ends always justify the means.
LIBTARD LOGIC
But it feels right.
