Did he own it legally? I will heavily assume he was a career criminal, therefore it wasn't a legal gun.

I may get downvoted here but the Constitution says "shall not be infringed". It doesn't say "unless you are a convicted felon". If a person is convicted of a felony and has completed their sentence/parole/probation and paid any penalties then they should be able to Keep and Bear Arms as the Constitution affirms to be their God-given right.

If they're so dangerous that they can't be trusted with human rights, why did we let them out?

SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED. Start making exceptions, and lose everything. All guns are legal guns.

Well tell that to the MSM, and tell them to freak out about this story like they do about others.

Why won't they?

Abolish msm. Should just have talk shows where anybody can call in. MSM is the enemy of the people and I do mean that

Arm them up.

Well perhaps he was a felon. But until I hear otherwise there is no such thing as an illegal gun.

I'm sure he was a fine upstanding citizen who acquired it legitimately by the books and was just minding his own business before suddenly being chased by the cops for no reason.

He was on his way to college! Was gonna make something of himself!

He was going to be a rocket surgeon, a blackstronaut and just about to go get his G.E.D.

I'm gonna hold judgement until I hear more about it

Felons still have a right to self defense. Criminals who have paid the piper should be allowed guns.

Testamernt 4 points ago +4 / -0

I can agree with this for non-violent offenders. But if the crime that got them locked up involved a weapon not being used for self defense then they have shown they cannot be trusted with a firearm and should not be allowed to legally own one.

I'd think differently if so many ex-cons didn't go back to prison, but too many become 2nd and 3rd time offenders.

People who kill with hammers aren't barred from owing hammers. People who kill with cars can still own cars. There is ZER0 justifiable reason for people who kill with guns to be prohibited from owning guns, especially since it is constitutionally protected.

I'd think differently if so many ex-cons didn't go back to prison, but too many become 2nd and 3rd time offenders.

We should solve this root of the problem then instead of sticking a band-aid in form of unconstitutional laws on it.
