As a route clearance (IED blood hound) commander I had to read intel reports before every mission. Only problem; massive amount of intel. I had like 20 mins before a mission. The reports were at least a 3 hour read and the dipshits that should have looked it over were too busy skyping their girfriends and wives or fucking around on YouTube or whatever. Basically printed it and threw it at me..meh.
I could not read the whole thing so I skimmed it as best I could daily. One though stood out to me. It was an Afghan farmer. He said he was done fighting for the season. He had to till his land, plant and irrigate but after that game on. LOL. I found this fascinating that he treated warfare like a seasonal event. Has to take of real shit but after that...yes. He will blow some shit up.
Sounds like a joke but they did defeat the USSR and the USA with that approach. Treat it as a "season". No end to it. Just something you do year end year out. Eventually the enemy just says fuck it which is exactly what happened.
We said fuck it. Not worth it. The farmer wins.
History is on looped play.
zactly how murica was born !
My platoon was also getting high driving through burnt poppy and hemp crops which was never addressed. The smoke was coming in the vehicles. I was so fucking pissed. Nobody would do anything. We were basically protecting their drug trafficking. Nothing more.
never heard that take. God bless you brother.
They win Afghanistan. They are welcome to it.
