there was but the vast majority of people here advised against it.
There were a lot of people saying to bring guns, a lot of us attacked them for it and were smeared back. I remember it quite clearly as it was pretty damn divisive.

If there was a plan to bring guns to the capitol protest why didn't the protesters bring their guns?

I definitely remember jokes about guillotines. I remember debates on whether or not having guns in DC was legal, but it was a question of protection from left-wing violence. I don't recall anyone talking about attacking cops. But I definitely remember talking about zip ties to detain Antifa if they attacked.
Personally I'm a fan of gallows. Guillotines are barbaric to me. Messy
And yet no gun violence erupted, the only death or injury by firearm was a protestor shot by a guard, and there was no guillotine nor gallow brought even for decoration, as had been at some BLM protests. Huh.
