Knew a black dude that got a full-ride for being black to under grad then got another full-ride for being black to UPenn Medical, with shit grades. He's now a plastic surgeon. He comes from a crazy wealthy family that paid for private tutors and had inside connections out the fucking ass. Equality or something...
I know a few minorities who are tormented by this question, from having gone to elite schools or getting prestigious jobs. Even if they're a lefty, this question will always be bugging them in the back of their mind and be a source of insecurity. It doesn't matter how much you try to convince yourself that you deserve everything because you're a victim, no one wants to face the fact that maybe they're just simply not good enough.
I can't look at this without thinking his skin color determined everything about this.
Edit: Fair Lawn does not have a big Black population. Idk if he would've gotten into every one if he was white, but he definitely is a good student so congrats where congrats is due. Reddit wouldn't highlight an Asian with the same accomplishment.
The main problem is that this kid is probably actually talented (I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt) but we can't know for sure due to this affirmative action bs. Sad really.
"Kabiawu was born in London, but moved to Atlanta then Troy, New York, where he attended elementary school while his mother pursued a Ph.D. at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), according to a news release from Fair Lawn Schools. The family relocated to Fair Lawn when Kabiawu started sixth grade at Memorial Middle School."
Excellent grades, strong in sports, African family, mom with a PhD, I think the win is legitimate.
The real tragedy is this brilliant black kid will get mind fucked into believing liberal ideologies and racist rhetoric until hes just another hate filled individual who wants to destroy our country.
To be fair, he looks like he's a good student and earned it and is proud of it. I see nothing wrong with this. Get it, and be an example like Candice Owens is.
Maybe he earned it. For every one like him there are thousands who are unqualified and get there based on skin color. It's called systemic racism against white people and has been going on for decades but accelerated under Obama, the America hating, muslim homo.
grade chimps on a curve. sat and act graded on a race curve. most bonus points for being black.. they call it an "adjustment". shit brix when i found out.
Make your neighborhood secure. Observe people and find a need they have which you can fulfill or learn to fulfill. Start a business in your neighborhood. Start a family. Run for office. In any order really as they all should lead to each other.
"... a weighted grade point average of 4.61, has been a varsity track athlete since his freshman year, and is the president of both the Future Business Leaders of America and the National Honor Society. Believe it or not, that's just a condensed list of his achievements."
The best judges for that statement are probably his white and Asian competitions with at least similar or even better achievements (but likely got rejected)
Lmfao we had a black kid get a 4.4 as a I used to peer review his papers. Being black and average is life on easy mode. He souks get A+ scores for things other kids would get Bs and B- on. He was on a bunch of student committees and clubs where he did nothing but be "black guy".
If you can poke holes in this particular kid's bonafides then I welcome the correction. Otherwise, an anecdotal sample size of one is hardly representative of anything.
My point is that these puff pieces are meaningless. Blacks and Hispanics are passed through classes and given un earned achievements to get the numbers up because of political reasons. This type of misplaced faux benevolence is causing and will cause huge problems. You're going to be getting a bunch of incompetent affirmative action trophies with glowing credentials pretty soon.
I can't wait to see all the awards and degrees my diversity oncologist has as he mishandles my treatment.
A while or Asian kid is lucky to get into one ivy with better stats. Many don’t get any at all. These stories with multiple acceptances are just a slap in the face to those kids.
That, and applying isn't cheap. My daughter, with a 4.0 and enough AP classes to earn her associate degree from high school, had to limit her applications due to cost.
So either this guy got help in that aspect, or he has more "white privilege" than my blonde daughter.
If he earned it, wonderful. I he did not earn it, despicable.
That's the problem with racist admittance policies. He could have legitimately earned that, but people will never know including him.

Likely DIDN'T, considering the current political landscape.
If he were White or Asian, would we even hear about this story?
Yes. Bit it would be about how racist the system is

Congratulations! You've achieved the accomplishment of BEING BLACK!
For sure a smart kid, he should be pissed that it comes with an asterisk.
We don’t know that this guy didn’t earn those acceptances.

If Urkel had a son.
"LAURA!!!!"

Test optional I’m sure. Not that it makes a difference. He’d get into all those ivies with a 1300. This country is so effed up.
I bet the cum guzzlers downvoting take big black dick in the ass too
Is that kid n play?

Sounds like he earned it to me:

White people just don't get it yet.

We have school districts that don't even give failing grades anymore. It's possible.
The data shows widespread discrimination against white and Asian men on grades.
Many white and Asian kids who get perfect GPA and play sports don't get into 5 Ivy Leagues.
Dude might be a genius... Without more details I can't be upset at this particular case.
But your general idea stands true. Filling quotas based on race is racist!
