What if I have zero debt? Do I get 50k?

This is my question. I worked hard and saved my money. Attended a college I could afford. My son attends a college we can afford. I am sick of irresponsible people being rewarded for taking out debt.

No. You get to pay 50k.

I didn't graduate college and I just paid off my mortgage. I was a slave to that god damn thing for so many years. so I too should be entitled to $50k.

I took a 25k school loan when i was 25. I was 38 and still had over 13k to pay. Thats without ever missing a payment. Trapped is an understatement.

I refinanced it and i payed it off in four years.

Or how about we stop printing "free" money from our already 30 trillion in debt government?

It won’t stop, this is the looting stage of the collapse

I'm fine with debt cancelation under either of two conditions: 1. Cancelling debt also cancels degrees, or 2. free degrees are given to all the responsible people who opted not to take out student loans they couldn't pay back. I think with either caveat the debt cancelation crowd would shut up really quick. Imagine taking out a home loan and expecting to keep the house when you can't or won't make your payments.

I don't have any debt and I've paid for 2 kids to go to college. I guess I could go out and buy a $50k car.

What if o was responsible and paid my $35k back already? Do I get paid back for paying back?

Nope. Sucker! You, like the rest of us responsible suckers, get nothing!

I’d consider getting another degree if the us is gonna cancel the debt... but let’s be real, they couldn’t even get $2000 checks out to citizens (they had no problem giving to themselves tho)

That asshole Hamilton couldn’t be said it better ... debt is slavery ... and a centralized government needs slave stated indebted to the central government

Seriously, we didn’t get the luxury or protection like the squatters who just decided to stop paying rent.

This is a great example of a moral hazard.

People who don’t have debt, logically, should go sign up for school, take out a loan, then immediately drop out.

Keep the cash. The government will pay it off.

Or just 50k for those following Ramsey?

Or how about do we just get a refund because we have no debt and have worked and paid for everything?

Government distortion of the college cost market is what has driven the price to the heights it is at. Perfect example of helping create the problem and then acting like savior....with money confiscated from the taxpayer.
