Great, so at minimum we have multiple politicians, including the POTATUS himself, (and more accurately, an entire political, social, and corporate class,) who do not believe in the rights of the accused, who do not believe in an independent judiciary, who do not believe in due process, and believe that they have the right to use the bully pulpit and their threat of violent mob justice and collective punishment of entire cities to put their thumb fist on the scale to guarantee an outcome in a legal case. And about half the country has no problem with this. We are so fucked as a nation.
The only bright side is that, in their hubris, they make these statements in front of cameras rather than behind closed doors, so at least in this one case Chauvin's lawyers will have endless material for an appeal if there is a conviction.
