If their vote is based on the fact that they have a wife and kid, then they have no business being on the jury. The jurors knew what they were getting into.

There are a lot of brave principled people in this comment section. I wonder what they're doing to save the republic. Surely they're all putting their lives on the line in very public ways, right?

Your cowardice is why we're in this mess. Always let someone else do the hard lifting must be the motto. Freedom isn't free.

And your child would grow up knowing that you are not only a coward but are willing to sacrifice their future to grasp at the tiny bit of comfort you have now.

Enjoy the hell of your own making.

And what lesson does that teach your kid? What future does that leave for them where people are taught to just bend the knee.

Then as Samuel Adams once famously said:

“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.”

Didn't someone say the gave names, address and so forth of the jurors??? Why then do we nit all rally around those addresses "peacefully and protest" the bs verdict that they so cowardly gave.

I guess you just wait until your life is so abhorrent it doesn't matter what you do, then you do something. The problem is the journey there is so soul-crushing that when you get there you'd rather just roll over and die.

To all the brave commentors. I'm not saying it's the right thing to do. I'm saying that when the things which matter most to you are on the line, people will pinch their nose and tick the box. And yes, truthfully, I probably would too. It would haunt me to my grave, but I would. The only way to make any sense of this verdict it to look at it empathetically from the position of the jurors.
