Police Unions are still unions. Therefore, in the pocket of the democrats.
I am an ex cop and I HATE police unions. Refused to join one when I wore the badge. They will passionately protect corrupt cops, and throw the good ones under the bus.
Example, there was a cop (school resource officer) in my former department who was accused of having a sexual relationship with a 16 year old girl. The Union ALWAYS rushed to his defense and got any attempts at discipline thrown out. The girl was uncooperative, so the criminal investigation never got enough evidence for charges.
Then, 9 months after she turned 18, she gave birth to his child. Guess he felt it was safe to go bareback once she turned 18. He didnt get fired until he got arrested for a DV incident with her a few months later. Oh, and she was a heroin addict too.
Meanwhile, in the same area and same time frame, 10 out of 13 cops in a small department were fired for filing complaints against their town and police chief, who was directing them to unconstitutionally persecute political opposition in town.
The same union did NOT defend them, and hung them out to dry. Several lost their homes due to the lack of income, a few others found jobs with other departments. It took 6 years before a non-union lawyer fought for them in federal court, and won. They all got back pay, but the damage was done.
The chief and town manager were found PERSONNALLY liable, meaning qualified immunity did not apply because they knowingly acted illegally and in bad faith.
Police unions are every bit as much infiltrated by commies as our government and Hollyweird. Of course they won’t do anything.
I don’t think they are legally allowed to “strike”, but in the past blue flus have been very successful
