Its the reporter chosen to represent all the journalists in that group (probably the white house press core). That reporter is allowed in to the event and reports back to the rest of the group writing "your pool" instead of saying "me", or using their name.

I think a good campaign would be to put a sign outside every known journalist alerting everyone to the fact they are a journalist. I guess a better word would be propagandist. And let’s make it fun.
