this shit is completely out of control

Recorded the audio and reported it to YAF campus tip line as a biased incident of censorship, because it's not the first time these people have have blocked conservative sites and I've called them out for it. I emailed the security officer that is in charge of cyber security at my school, and his email reply as follows.

"The firewall logs show that traffic to the website was blocked because it posed a threat, probably malware. The University subscribes to a threat feed that updates the firewall several hundred times a day with new threats as they are detected. It is not unusual for web sites to be hacked and then used by criminals to distribute malware or for websites to fail to screen its advertisers, again allowing criminals to insert malware into ads. Basically, the firewall did its job in protecting the student."

I then replied with:

"I find this funny because I actually ran a scan on the website and there appears to be no malware of any kind. I also have security measures on my computer that would notify me about malware if I were to visit a site. This website was from a trustworthy source that I actually clicked off of a news article. I’m currently on the website using a VPN and there seems to be no issue. My only assumption is that the firewall censors certain political buzzwords, because this isn’t my first time seeing a blocked political site that I visit regularly on my home network."

Fuck commies.

I have a VPN subscription that I use normally, but when the University detects there is an IP that looks "suspicious" they disconnect you from the network. It's literally commie bullshit.
