One of my hobbies is penpalling. I'm an older lady pede and I like to write letters back and forth with other women my age, all across the country. I've been writing to a lot of these women since the 90's, and I consider them to be friends. Most of my penpals are conservative like me, and all of them have said that there is no way they will get the vax. But recently two of them have given in and gotten it, and a few others are now considering it due to family pressures. I'm just so disappointed in them for not holding strong. No point in this post really. I just needed to vent. Its so frustrating that some conservatives are so weak.

Conservatives really aren't good at fighting back. I mean look at the difference between Democrats and Republican politicians.
Democrats say they will burn down the country and guess what? They do it. Meanwhile republicans can’t even stop the steal of the 2020 election.

I'm not getting the vaccine and I don't wear masks unless I have to (doctor's appointments, etc.), then again I'm only conservative because that's the group that is the most sane and logical. I actual consider myself a libertarian in a lot of respects but the libertarians aren't even libertarian anymore. They are so fake and hypocritical. But I'm definitely MAGA and MAGA people are the only ones who seem to be willing to fight back ...look at Marjorie Taylor Green. Poster needs to get some MAGA penpals, Conservatives want to be left alone and get complacent while MAGA people are tired of the bullshit and fight back.

i feel your pain. my 26 year old daughter was once a very strong conservative woman, right up until she went to college. now she is very far left, and we rarely ever even talk or text anymore. she told me a month ago that she had gotten the "vaccine", even though i had told her everything that was wrong with it, sent her numerous articles, research, videos, etc. it was one of the toughest emotional days i have had in quite a while. stand by your convictions, no matter what. never let others influence your personal decisions, especially when it comes to your health!
I feel your pain. The same thing happened to 4 of my 5 kids and the 5th one will get it because of being military. It has been a hard thing to deal with this spring.
I wonder if I will need to help out with grandkids in the future, possibly.
my other 2 kids are still 100% against it, hopefully it stays that way. there is no telling what is going to happen to the people that have taken this experimental cocktail over the next 1, 3, 5, 10 years. all we can do is hope and pray for our family members. in the end, they were all adults, and made their own decisions. we can only try to give them guidance.

That's not really how it works though. As people get older, they tend to get more conservative.
Young people being liberal isn't a new phenomenon, it's been that way forever.
I think it’s different nowadays as many reach a point of no return (thinking of genital mutilation + Tattoos/piercings/you name it). I don’t see those folks ever becoming conservative stalwarts in their old age. That is if they make it to old age.

I know guys covered in gang tattoos who have done years in prison who are flying Trump flags today and seeing the value of family and community.

My mom and I lost my sister to that disease that is leftism. She was also a strong conservative Christian until she moved to DC with my brother in law. She went from hosting pro life protests to marching with the vagina hats. I hope they come around but it is not looking good sadly. The media is only getting worse.

My guess is my grandchildren wouldn't tell me if they did as I have gone to great lengths to warn them.

I don't think they will ever really understand how much I sacrifice for them.
I fear the day that they question that I care more about them than anyone else and they attempt to defy me because of some kind of peer pressure or cultural pressure.
I never knew a parent's love until I became one.

Peer pressure is a real thing. I see many of my peers doing the same. A girl I know was all against the vaccine but her boss at work asked her if she was going to get the vaccine and she just said yes because she didn't want to seem like she was an anti-vaxxer to her boss so her boss got her in on the vaccine and she got one simply because she didn't want to cause a stir. That's how easy some people can be convinced.
I was in the same situation and said the equivalent of, “Fuck no.”

Yet, still to this day, 95% of people in public are wearing masks. That's 19 out of every 20 people I see.
Most Conservatives are pussies. They talk big bad and tough but lack the conviction to stand up for anything they believe in in real life. On the internet many are keyboard warriors. In real life they're too scared to defend their Christian beliefs. Too scared of being called a racist. Too unprepared for debates. Too lazy to become active, attend town hall meetings, attend city or county council meetings, too lazy to protest, too scared to offend anyone by NOT wearing a useless mask.
Perhaps we've become too domesticated. Give us refrigeration, heat, air conditioning, mindless entertainment, a steak and potato and we'll walk into our barn stall obediently and without fight and let the farmer lock us in until it's time to milk us or slaughter us for a slice of prime rib.

Sad to hear it. I would say they are getting pressure from their families. My in laws are putting the pressure on my little family. It just makes us dig in our heels further. I have never bowed to peer pressure, and never will.
