i'm 42 years removed from hs, but i took two ap courses: lit and art history...and worked my ass off. so much time reading, writing papers, going to museums--on my own time. my family was living in europe at the time, so it wasn't a struggle, just time-consuming. the end-all/be-all was an exam in each subject; it only counted as college credit if you scored 4's & 5's. 4/5 of the sr. class had a cakewalk english class...those of us who spent the time and energy to kick ass in our ap classes deserved the benefits; how shitty is it to cheat those who are capable and want to learn and are willing to do the work to better themselves? so they don't feel bad about their own ignorance? and the thing is....if you can read, you can educate yourself on all sorts of subjects. forced stupidity; we're regressing as a species.
This is some Harrison Bergeron type shit
So kids got to the gas chamber first I guess.
My homeschooled kids are going to be like Private Joe Bauers smart compared the rest of society in 20 years....
