If you think The Lord of the Rings is Hollywood soy shit you’ve clearly never had any exposure to them. Sure, Peter Jackson got a few things wrong, and he didn’t entirely understand what Tolkien’s view of good and evil was. But they got the heart of the story right. And it’s all about standing up to the overwhelming forces of darkness, using friendship and honor to defeat evil, even when it seems like all hope is lost. Seems kind of like the opposite of soy shit to me.
