Between the decision between Michigan State University and Detroit Mercy. Can't decide. Both of them have cringy gender studies but which one should I choose. These are the only options I have and Schoolcraft doesn't count.

Edit: Trade school doesn't count either. Only those two options.

OP- this path will lead to your ability to do pretty much anything, and you will not rely on others to complete most of the physical tasks you will come across in life. Whether repairing your own vehicle, fixing the never ending issues with a house, or taking on new hobbies for fun, your perception and aptitude for new ideas and tasks will be far greater than those who choose the (~~)gender studies(~~) university path.

Trade school. Learn something that will make you money. Those idiots getting a gender studies can't get a fucking job after school with massive debt.

Can't choose Trade school either.

You can save all your tuition by reading. I'm not kidding. You might miss out on some partying but trust me in the long run it is not worth it. It was fun in the past but I can't imagine the parties being any fun nowadays in colleges. You can study hard by yourself and get a better education than those other kids.

So which college is it?

My son is in college here in Michigan. He has to deal with all the BS. He is in pre med currently. Just know, that no matter which college u choose it will be the same thing. All classes push social issues. Even ones u wouldn't expect. Like science, english. Basically all of em talk about it. And there is no conservatism in these lectures. My advice, of how my son has been dealing with this crap is, keep ur mouth shut, learn what is needed and vent ur frustrations outside of college. There is no getting around it. You will be outnumbered by the liberal hive mindset, no sense in making ur life on campus a living hell. Unfortunately that is now the way in college.

Also, be prepared to constantly be pushed to be PCR tested and pushed to get the vaccine. All i can say is claim "Religious exemption" every single time, unless u are all for the tests and vaccines. Like i said, liberal hive minset. Don't let them bully u into all this BS.

But from your perspective which one do you personally prefer?

I would say MSU.... if u decided to go to med school after ur bachelors, u would have one foot up and able to have more connections to prof, and Drs at MSU.

Yeah, I'm going to the medical field. So thank you for the advice.

Don't waste your money. Hint: I am a professor at a renowned western University.

I don't know have to make the choice now or pretty soon.

You keep saying Mercy is more tailored, to what, the medical field you're interested in?

1
coolguy123456789 [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

I don't know which medical field I'm interested in. People around me are saying due to Mercy being tailored you don't have the option or opportunity to really choose the career you actually like.

Personally, I'd pick Mercy since they are a Catholic private school and I'd be among like minded people.

Look at the actual programs.
I'd say Detroit Mercy is probably better because it is a smaller school, and they are more connected to business and industry. They have fast track masters programs. Yeah, all around it IS a shit-hole, but you can stay inside their campus. Also a lot of students will commute and rent in Ferndale, etc. They allowed on-site campus tours when everyone else was locked down.

If you're a woman and you're ok with being sexually assaulted by the faculty, then State is your go-to choice.

Some people around say that Mercy is it's too tailored and that MSU has more choices.

Become a drug dealer. You will gain valuable market experience as well as supply chain management (logistics) and personal security. It might sound stupid but going to college isn't always the best choice in my opinion. Depends on your career goals. If you want to become a doctor you really do need to go to college. An airplane pilot needs the training and education. Trade schools and on the job training are valuable options though. No book can teach real world experience.

That illegal, can't do that either. Personally, I'm trying to go into the medical field so which college should I go to?

1
Filetsmignon 1 point ago +1 / -0

Neither. Go to college but not those two. How about move to Texas, help us with your conservative values and vote. Get residency and attend a less woke college like Texas A&M. Or Auburn University in Alabama is still fairly conservative - move there (home of RSBN).

coolguy123456789 [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

Look moving to another state isn't an option either. Which of these two are the lesser evil.

1
Filetsmignon 1 point ago +1 / -0

Probably best to consider other factors then. Housing costs, proximity to family, local jobs, outdoor activities, weather, etc.

1
coolguy123456789 [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

Mercy is closer but it's too tailored while MSU is farther but has more choices. I don't know what career I will join which is why many people around me are pressing me to go to MSU.

That's the issue. Mercy is cheaper but it's too tailored. MSU gives more choices but is too far and more expensive. My family said MSU as if you go to Mercy, pay the 15,000, and don't like it then all, that money is wasted and it's better to spend more money to have more available choices better-fitted towards you.

It's hard deciding between these two colleges. Both offer the medical field.

Just don't know what to decide and even for myself on what's good for me I'm conflicted. Should I chose Mercy which's smaller and more tailored or MSU with its bigger choice options but is more expensive and far.

It depends on how long you want to stay in school and what you want to do in life.Nursing is a great way to help people every day with less time in school. Physicians assistant is a masters level so even less time than a PhD and also less liability. To get your doctorate would allow more freedom but you will be in school many years. You could always go the tech route. That is a trade school job. Less money but a lot less school.
