If Trump wanted Senators to get on board he should have done more than five the same speech over and over repeating the same unproven claims. If he wanted Senators on board he should have had State legislatures refuse to certify electors. Once the State legislatures certified the electors there was nothing a Senator could do.

I really, really wish Trump had pardoned everyone involved who didn't commit crimes of violence. Unfortunately, I think he was lied to by the Deep State, claiming that an actual insurrection was taking place (it wasn't) and that legislators were threatened (they weren't). I firmly believe that the worst threat legislators faced was being yelled at for not doing their jobs.
