This is BAD news for us actually. That means that one of the MAGA upstate or Long Island NY Representatives like Lee Zeldin or Elise Stefanik's seat is getting gerrymandered out.

EDIT: Potential List of GOP Reps. that they might nix:

  • Elise Stefanik
  • Lee Zeldin
  • Nicole Malliotakis?
  • Claudia Tenney?

Lee Zeldin is from Long Island not upstate.

25

Well they were gonna gerrymander anyway so they probably would have tried to get rid of them anyway.

22
KineticMaid 22 points ago +22 / -0

If Stefanik got pushed out I think she would have a good shot for the senate. Would love to see her win against Gillibrand in 2024.

Also, Cuomo is up for re-election soon

11

Gillibrand is nauseating. Imagine considering yourself a righteous progressive Senator when you were formerly legal counsel for Phillip Morris/Altria.

Trump-2024 56 points ago +56 / -0

Sad news is that both those states have total Democrat control. So they’ll just gerrymander away a red district and shuffle its conservatives into neighboring blue ones in small enough numbers so they keep those districts blue. Overall this is a good thing, but it hurts us in the short term.

26
xBigCoffinHunter 26 points ago +26 / -0

But all the social media political geniuses said that the GOP does all the gerrymandering

12
GastonP1000 12 points ago +12 / -0

The good news is Republicans have an advantage in 29 state legislatures. We could gain 7 seats from Texas and Florida alone.

7
BasedEngineer 7 points ago +7 / -0

Still better the seat is in MN than NY. Both are pretty corrupt politically, though MN has a "republican" majority senate. I personally think MN would be a lot more red of not for fraud. Hillary almost lost there in 2016, but somehow Joe "wins" by a larger margin in 2020.

3
BoughtByBloomberg2 3 points ago +3 / -0

No that's the best thing! New York voted for a constitutional amendment forcing a bipartisan 10 member committee to gerrymander the districts and a whole lot of other words in it as well like "respecting the historical significance of the county" so the old up state counties are safe zones.

The GOP has AS MUCH POWER as the DNC when it comes to the redistricting.

2
scyenceFiction 2 points ago +2 / -0

"Bi-partisan" in NY means 7 establishment dems hand-picked by Cuomo, 2 RINOs on the take and one at-large commissioner selected by the labor unions.

They were responsible for the gerrymandering upstate that flipped everything from Kingston to Glens Falls permanently blue.

1
BoughtByBloomberg2 1 point ago +1 / -0

No it actually means 4 members of the minority party and 4 of the majority who then get 2 picks and vote on non affiliated members.

At worst it's 6-4 if the RINOS let their lunch get eaten for free.

24
TheOne1 24 points ago +34 / -10

The mass exodus of people from leftist shitholes will permanently change demographics and representation. By the next census the left will be done. They think they can import enough foreign supporters to keep winning but those people are not all going to vote democrat if at all.

37
LegalEagle22 37 points ago +39 / -2

Sure but, where do you think they're going? There's a reason there's daily freakouts in comment sections around here about leftists moving to Texas and Arizona. Demographics will shift in these states but they'll shift on others too.

15
TheOne1 15 points ago +21 / -6

You think it's leftists that are leaving? You are wrong. It's conservatives.

20
ObamasLooseButthole 20 points ago +24 / -4

You ever met a California conservative? They're pretty liberal lol.

Also going to put this here to say "obviously not ALL of them" before I get 10 Californian's replying to this whining and saying "nuh uh!"

13
ShowMeState90 13 points ago +14 / -1

The “normie” conservative isn’t exclusive to California. You can even find conservatives like that in rural areas. I know people like that from my small town in my 75 percent Trump voting county in Missouri.

This typical “normie” conservative likely still watches the NFL/MLB/NBA, thinks Biden ackshually won 81 kajillion votes, thinks you should get the vax, and the idea that the FBI is like the modern day KGB is just totally tinfoil.

Basically, as long as the Democrats don’t touch their 401Ks and they can send their kids to the high priced indoctrination center of their choosing, they don’t care that the Democrats fuck kids, pull another Waco, blackmail their political colleagues and opposition...as long as their retirement is safe and they aren’t personally, physically affected...they Gucci.

7
ObamasLooseButthole 7 points ago +7 / -0

I wasn't talking about your average normie conservative. I was talking about the "conservatives" who call themselves that while praising gays and trannies etc.

Trust me, you won't find those types in rural areas unless they're from a blue state. They tend not to stay that long either.

2
ShowMeState90 2 points ago +3 / -1

I must admit I don’t know too many of those. I actually don’t think I know any conservatives that are like that. Lol

4
ObamasLooseButthole 4 points ago +4 / -0

They're all around you on here. And it's also the reason that I put "obviously not all of them" in my original comment. I'm sure there are good people even in the worst places.

But yeah, normies are everywhere. I 100% agree with you on that.

LostViking1985 15 points ago +15 / -0

CA uses Dominion... just sayin...

And now TX is slowly going blue instead of fixing their shit. And it ain't due to a few thousand CA refugees...

People who bitch about CA, but then either don't help CA conservatives, or let their own state fall apart, should just stfu, honestly.

5
Renathras 5 points ago +5 / -0

The number of Californians that have come to Texas is far more than "a few thousand"...

Cali is gone. It doesn't matter if you have 4 million R voters if they can only manage 11 of the state's 53 House seats, only 8 of THOSE are actually R+ districts, and them being there means that Cali has 55 Electoral College votes that all go to Biden.

If all the 4 million Cali GOP voters moved to Red states before the Census, those House seats and EC votes would largely have gone with them, and none of the "Red states going Purple" would be concerning anymore. By insisting on staying in California, they're dooming us all. Note that it would be more than 4 million if all conservatives moved out, since that doesn't include minor children or those that choose not to vote because "my vote doesn't matter" - they all still count towards the population.

And no amount of scapegoating Dominion is changing that. Even if you want to blame Dominion, California would still go Dem on the state level. Sure, some more House seats might go GOP, but they would if those voters/citizens moved to other states before the Census anyway, so that's not a good argument.

Strategically, the stubbornness of such people is dooming us as a nation, and they aren't winning "their state" back, no matter how much they want to.

4
vicentezo04 4 points ago +4 / -0

So you want California's Republicans to stay there are keep contributing to those 55 EVs or move elsewhere and add more red EVs?

3
Renathras 3 points ago +3 / -0

I think he/she is saying that he/she wants those California Republicans to move to Red states. Had they done so before the census, then the House seats/EVs would have moved with them. But, of course, they didn't.

4
Pray4USA 4 points ago +5 / -1

3
Parhelion12 3 points ago +3 / -0

Do you know what cheating means? CA went red.

3
Renathras 3 points ago +3 / -0

No, it didn't.

You can argue it is a lot MORE Red than the results we got, but Cali is still Blue. They've let so many illegals into the state for decades that the children of those illegals - who are US citizens by birth in US territory - are voting.

Without the cheating, maybe some House seats would flip, but statewide, Cali would still be going Blue.

9
TyrannoAryansaur 9 points ago +16 / -7

Californian conservatives are the type who support LGBT and dumbasses like Bruce jenner.

They're so fucking liberal and refuse to see it. They're liberals 10 years ago, who guarenteed move away and vote for rhinos and liberals 10 years later

K

2
Renathras 2 points ago +2 / -0

And doing what?

Contributing to California's population, which gives it 55 Electoral Votes to reliably give the Democrat candidate every 4 years?

Oh, sure, you have 11 House seats, but only 8 of them are R+, and if you and your families had all moved to Red states before the census, those seats would have moved with you.

You're dooming us as a nation, strategically, by refusing to move to a Red state. And it's not like there aren't good Red states to move to that have cities and jobs and other cosmopolitan things such that you wouldn't be missing out by leaving California.

1
TyrannoAryansaur 1 point ago +7 / -6

Rhinos are here too.

8
JuanTitor 8 points ago +8 / -0

I'm more conservative than the majority of conservatives in Texas, but I'm also more conservative than the majority of conservatives here in California.

But the biggest issue isn't state to state immigration, it is education, I imagine that even in red states many high school English programs are rebranded communism.

6
ObamasLooseButthole 6 points ago +6 / -0

You are the reason disclaimers are a thing.

2
Renathras 2 points ago +2 / -0

The question to me is why conservatives - actual conservatives - stay in California.

There are jobs, big cities, amenities, etc in Red states like Texas and Florida, as well as Purple states like Georgia, North Carolina, and Arizona; and they all have more conservative social policies which - if one is THAT conservative - would appeal.

But by staying in California, you strategically aid the enemy, since you contribute to them having 55 reliable Electoral College votes to give Democrats. Indeed, had all the conservatives moved out of Cali before the census, both House seats and EC votes would have moved with them...

1
JuanTitor 1 point ago +1 / -0

I am moving soon enough, and I know dozens of conservatives that have moved to Texas, Arizona, Idaho, Utah, and Montana, but I can answer that question.

1, people get attached to where their family is from. Both of my grandfathers' families been in Southern California for over 150 years, literally built up this place. I'm fine with leaving, but I know many others that aren't.

2, in many pockets it isn't what people outside of California think it is. In many parts of the central valley, for instance, people know each other, law enforcement is good, and overall life is good. In Southern California, the area I'm in had plenty of churches meeting indoors during the lockdown, and city and county officials didn't care. There were restaurants that never closed inside, barbers that never shut down, and the local authorities turn a blind eye.

Thus, for many people, life hasn't been disrupted, and many conservatives are not very politically active, so life goes on.

1
Renathras 1 point ago +1 / -0

For (1), I do understand the feeling. But I've come to terms myself with the fact that if Texas ever goes hard Blue like Cali, I would have to leave, and have made preparations to do so if it came to that. Granted, it Texas flips, we're all done anyway and the nation is over, but...

I was stationed in California. I know there are parts that are okay. The problem is, they are WAY overshadowed by the parts that are not, and Sacramento still makes the laws. The 10 round limit on magazines was statewide, not limited to the Blue areas.

So I understand both of these points, I really do, I just don't see them as valid at this point. Especially since moving from Cali to Texas, for example, would result in you being freer and, due to the lower cost of living, actually having a better life economically as well. I've know a number of friends in Cali that complain to me all the time about the laws and representation and expense of living there, but every time I say "Well, you can move to Texas..." they just groan a bunch. To which I then say "Well then, you have no right to complain about it, since I've given you a solution and you're rejecting it." :)

New York isn't turning red. NYC's population is...mindbogglingly massive. It's like Chicago to Illinois, but 10x worse. The only way New York goes red is if Long Island becomes a separate state from the rest of NY, and that isn't going to happen since the Democrats wouldn't give the Republicans 2 more Senate seats for free like that.

Michigan and Pennsylvania could go either way. Both have long been "fool's gold" for Republicans, and it took a populist Trump to flip them. The GOP as a party isn't really embracing populism on the whole, so they may drift back Blue if the GOP doesn't get its head out of its....

Well, you know. And losing Ga, AZ, and NC would not be made up by taking MI and PA. Worse, if we lose Texas in the process, even flipping NY wouldn't matter.

day221 16 points ago +16 / -0

Lol please. They are moving Democrats to red states to turn them blue. Just read about Apple building a massive new dev facility in North Carolina. They are importing people from elsewhere that way as well. Georgia and Texas too.

9
quantumwannabe 9 points ago +9 / -0

That’s not because they want to move California leftists to North Carolina, but because NC has a large black population and they want to hire black engineers. They have been unable to hire many (for reasons obvious to any non-SJW) and believe that blacks don’t want to move to the racist Bay Area, so instead of bringing blacks to the jobs they are bringing the jobs to the blacks. Seriously, this is the real reason; Apple and the other Big Tech companies opening offices there want to hire as much as possible from the local (black) community.

The ability to work from home and not be stuck in corporate PC incubators of bullshit will draw people away from commie shitholes as well.

1
The_Dugout 1 point ago +1 / -0

Many major companies are announcing a return to the office. IBM, google, and microsoft all put out releases this week to employees with scheduled return dates. Working from home for most will be temporary.

-6
Joesf23 -6 points ago +1 / -7

Many are also sticking with work from home because its cheaper and you have more productivity. If someone has a cold or thinks they have "covid" they can work from home still and not take sick day OR come to work and spread it to others. Micro managing middle managers tend to be the ones who generally hate associates who work from home because we get more work done without them constantly bugging us about mundane stupid shit. Some need inner office work to be done or the skilled labor jobs. Most corporate jobs can be done remotely in your own house. Cubical life is stupid lol

1
The_Dugout 1 point ago +1 / -0

more productivity

Ha ha. Despite the push from hourly workers to work from home, most major companies are finding lowered productivity. IBM put out a study pre covid showing that their at home employees didn't do shit.

-4
Joesf23 -4 points ago +2 / -6

Well that's IBM who wants everyone back in the office to under watchful eyes. IBM was one of the most rigid stereotyical corporate meat grinders back in the 80s & 90s. I think it depends on the company, the type of work you do, and how accountable people are. I learned years ago that I got more done at home than being in an office. Some people like cube world and like the chit chat environment while others like me find it distracting and mentally exhausting. Some people had issues working at home during pandemic because you had shitty sofware/equipment/servers being used by the companies unprepared for remote work, or you had parents trying to work and home school their kids.

1
The_Dugout 1 point ago +1 / -0

Cool story. Long story short, most are going to have to return to an office in the next year or two.

Meanwhile we're just saying "well look at that." It's not a winning plan.

4

However, a census dick did show up, I think in August. I told him I already responded and to kindly fuck off. He gave me a form with like a pin number on it, I threw it out. It's possible that a bad flu would have taken out these particular elderly. But it certainly didn't help their cause when the "infected" were housed in their elderly group homes. I call that intentional murder by situation.

OR they were killed by something else and the China Virus was a convenient cover story.
