I have complete hearing loss. I know sign language but I HATE seeing these interpreters in the corner on TV or standing behind the person speaking. There is such a thing as different sign languages and regional dialects, and I much prefer reading subtitles over trying to squint at some tiny fuck waving their hands around. Unfortunately, deaf culture has been dumbed down and kept dumb. It’s acceptable to not be able to comprehend basic English so the liberal deaf fucks keep lobbying for “access”. We have subtitles, you dumb fucks. That’s better than interpreters.

And there they go with the sign language again. Nothing against ASL but why did covid all of sudden create the need for sign language for every public broadcast? Probably the same reason people wear masks for public broadcasts.

Maybe because these lunatics all wear muzzles and it fucks with auto generated closed captioning? Other than that, I do not have a clue.

Being a sign language person or translator for Pedo Joe must be the worst job in the world.

a taxpayer funded ASL translator probably making six figures on a mediocre tv appearance

To be fair, I brought this up once to someone more knowledgeable than me in ASL. I thought it was a bit rediculous, in 2020, to have an interpreter. I was told, despite people learning sign, some can't read. I'm still just as confused.

The increase in sign language interpreters is just more fake bullshit. It's far more practical to have closed captioning. This was huge in the 70s and 80s because closed captioning wasn't a thing. They got rid of it for the most part because it's stupid in comparison to the much easier closed caption.
