Sorry if this isn't news to some of you; as a child growing up with an education during the 90's and early 2000's, I've always been taught to view McCarthyism as a bad thing and I've never truly learned how Taiwan came to be or why Communist China hated them so much.
I think this is news to 99.999% of people. I only learned it a couple years ago.
We were going to give aid to the Chinese Nationalists, and Soviet spies delayed the aid until China fell to Communism.
They also gave our radar secrets to the North Koreans during the Korean War and got a ton of our soldiers killed.
They also gave our nuclear secrets to Soviet Russia and made the Cold War and the specter of a Nuclear-Armed Russia possible in the first place. We executed two spies for treason for that one.
Basically it looks more and more like everything Global Communism has ever had, it has stolen from the United States. Like we gave Communism all of the power it has ever had in the world, by getting infiltrated by Communists and them using our power and influence to make it happen.
OP: the same communists also had us enter WW2 on the Russian side, lending them billions in materials during Lend Lease. We already knew the communists had killed and imprisoned MILLIONS in Russia (as did Germany, hence Hitler) yet we saved them anyway...
